1939 AUTO

1939 AUTO is an auto repair shop at 1939 S 17th St in Philadelphia, PA 19145. For drivers looking for a local shop to investigate a problem or handle needed maintenance, customer reviews point to a team that takes time to explain what is going on before recommending work. One customer brought in a car that would not start and appreciated receiving a clear explanation of the diagnostic process and the cause of the issue, without pressure to approve repairs that were not necessary. That kind of straightforward communication can make an unexpected car problem easier to navigate.

Customers often mention Kevin and Michael by name, describing friendly, considerate service and a willingness to answer questions. Reviewers say they have felt treated fairly, particularly after experiences elsewhere where they worried about being charged for work they did not need. One customer also appreciated that Kevin remembered a family detail from a previous meeting. These personal touches, alongside clear conversations about repairs, help give 1939 AUTO a welcoming feel for individuals and families seeking a mechanic they can return to.

The work described in customer feedback includes diagnosing a no-start issue, preparing an estimate, and completing brake work. One reviewer said the shop finished an estimate and brake service within a few hours, offered a price well below another shop’s quote, and got the car in and out the same day. That is one customer’s experience, not a promise of timing or pricing for every repair, but it gives prospective customers a concrete sense of the service people have valued. The reviews also describe continued trust in the shop after its change from Dom’s Auto Repair to 1939 AUTO, with customers glad that familiar care carried on under the new owners.

Located in South Philadelphia, 1939 AUTO is a practical option for nearby drivers who want to discuss a vehicle concern, understand an estimate, or ask about brake work and diagnosis.
