Sign in to review99 Ranch Market in San Gabriel is a big and clean supermarket with lots of fresh food and a great variety of products. The bakery has tasty options and plenty of ready to eat items. Staff is decent and there’s usually lots of parking.
On April 3rd at approximately 7:20 PM, I encountered a serious and unacceptable management issue at this location. After completing my purchase at the self-checkout, I noticed that my rewards points were not added. I approached Ms. A, who was responsible for the self-checkout area, and she refused to assist me. When I sought help from another staff member, I was directed back to her. Instead of resolving the issue, Ms. A responded with an unprofessional attitude, saying, “Why are customers always like this?” and continued complaining. Throughout the entire interaction, I remained polite and respectful. However, Ms. A not only refused to help, but also repeatedly complained and insisted that it was not her responsibility. This level of behavior is completely unacceptable in any customer service environment. It is clear that simply renovating the store does not address the deeper issues at 99 Ranch Market. The staff lack professionalism, and there appears to be a serious failure in management and training. Based on my experience, the service quality here falls far below standard. In comparison, H Mart demonstrates a much higher level of professionalism and customer care. I strongly urge management to take this matter seriously and implement proper staff training and accountability measures.

I usually come here for the Bento's. So glad they've slashed the price back to something normal, and don't skimp on portions any more. Inflation was really getting to us all. But otherwise, is this the cheapest grocery store in the area? No, there definitely not as cheap as the guys across the street, but they're still decently priced, and ever since they remodeled years ago, it's much cleaner --although that was also about the same time they changed some of their selections, and things weren't as cheap as before, and this was well before the pandemic. Still not a bad spot to hit up for your groceries. The old East West Bank kiosk they had at front is now replaced with claw arcade machines for your kids to think they can win a prize.
Nice Asian supermarket with a very wide selection of fruits at reasonable prices, a wide verity of Asian foods to choose from and some freshly made pastries, the seafood doesn’t look bad either but I would not buy meat there.
