A Mobile Mechanics is an auto repair shop serving drivers in Golden, Colorado. Customers describe Buddy as an honest, dependable mechanic, with particular knowledge of Subaru vehicles. Reviews mention people finding the shop through friends, coworkers, neighbors, and online recommendations, then returning with their cars over many years. One customer says their family has been bringing vehicles to Buddy since 1999. For local drivers looking for a mechanic they can ask about a repair or routine attention for their vehicle, these first-hand experiences offer useful context about the shop’s reputation and approach.
Subarus are a recurring theme in customer feedback. Reviewers praise Buddy’s familiarity with the make and describe him as someone who knows Subarus inside and out. One customer brought in a recently purchased used Subaru with oil and power steering fluid leaks after another mechanic had discussed the problem. The review excerpt does not give the final repair details, so prospective customers should contact the shop directly to discuss their vehicle and what service may be appropriate. Other reviews describe reliable work and a tune-up that helped get a car ready for a cross-country drive. These accounts suggest the shop may be worth considering for Subaru owners and drivers preparing for a longer journey.
Trust and straightforward treatment matter when choosing a mechanic, especially for people who do not feel confident evaluating car repairs. A reviewer says a coworker recommended Buddy because they trusted him not to take advantage of a customer who did not know much about cars. Other customers use words such as “honest,” “reliable,” and “great work,” and describe referrals spreading through local word of mouth. The feedback is not uniformly positive: one reviewer reports feeling dismissed when calling about service and says the shop was booked several weeks out. That experience is a reminder to call ahead, ask about availability, and explain what your vehicle needs before making plans.
A Mobile Mechanics is listed at 15810 W Colfax Ave, 787 Nile St, Golden, CO 80401, United States. The shop’s posted hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; it is closed Saturday and Sunday. Its listed rating is 4.7 from 206 reviews. Since the review excerpts describe demand and limited appointment availability, calling in advance is a practical way to confirm scheduling and discuss service options. For Golden-area drivers, particularly Subaru owners seeking an experienced mechanic or people wanting to prepare a vehicle for a trip, the customer feedback can help guide that first conversation. Contact the shop to confirm current hours, availability, and whether it can address your specific repair.

My boyfriend is a huge fan of Buddy and when I bought a used Subaru recently, he suggested that I use Buddy as my regular mechanic too. He describes Buddy as "the most honest mechanic I've ever met." My Subaru was leaking oil and power steering fluid. Another mechanic told me that the leaks would cost over $1000 to fix, despite the fact that all those components had been replaced recently. I am so glad I went to Buddy! He fixed the oil leak in 10 minutes for $30 and told me that the tiny power steering leak is a normal thing that this model of subarus do in the winter cold. It is clear that he knows subarus so well that he can diagnose problems quickly, accurately, and honestly. He probably saves me $1000 in wasted money. I really appreciate him.
Buddy's the best, very honest, knows Subarus inside and out. We've been taking our cars to him since 1999 and learned about him through word of mouth, and now Nextdoor, always neighbors are recommending Buddy 😁 …
I read great things about this shop and mechanic online but I was just treated with such disregard and unwillingness to help when calling about service and repairs for the second time in a year. I was told that he was booked out for several weeks and I told him that was fine I’d like to still get on the schedule. He replies- “bring your car to me on the 12th!” I asked if he did mobile service which is what is advertised and he said “no I haven’t done that since 98’.” Then he said “yeah no call this other guy on wadsworth who works on Subarus” and I said well it seems like you just don’t want to be helpful at all? Then he hung up on me!!! Sounded like a drunk.
Buddy is the best! Honest, reliable, great work. Greatest Subaru mechanic there is
Buddy is a great person and mechanic. I was referred to him by a coworker and a local that said they would only send their daughter to him because he would not take advantage of her not knowing anything about cars. He got my car tuned up and ready for a cross country drive as well as providing me information about keeping my car running good for years to come even though he knows I won’t be out here much longer. Additional bonus: He’s beyond reasonably priced!
