A-Tex Auto Repair

JR is a man of his word. I had a heartbreaking front end accident in my beloved and very rare 2013 Cadillac CTS-V wagon that stopped just short of the engine block. The dealer collision center (Sewell) would not repair it (after billing me >$1000 for towing and disassembly) because GM is really bad about discontinuing and running out of parts, esp. for smaller volume vehicles like this. I asked Sewell for any recommendation other than totaling the vehicle, and they suggested A-Tex. To be honest, at first glance at JR's shop, I was anxious about their ability to handle a very complex and tight tolerance high performance vehicle with a lot of electronics and sub-systems (they had mostly older classic cars at the shop), but I talked to the owner JR and his team, and got multiple reassurances that they could handle it, and they discussed what needed to be done in a way that was credible to me, with young gents who were experts in different job areas. I also brought my son-in-law who restores 'Vettes, and he confirmed. JR quoted in the same cost range as the dealer estimate, so I paid half up front because parts are expensive and some are near impossible to find. The results were miraculous - OEM parts (used or new), flawless engine, frame, and body work, and the car looks literally factory new and drives perfectly. I made the final payment, drove the car home, and (a bit embarrassed to say) shed some tears to have it back. J.R. and his team at A-Tex auto repair took such great care in getting my car towed and repaired in the same day. My starter went out. JR did the research, worked with me every step of the way, explaining next step with time frames included. He diagnosed the issues with my car and compromised on services recommended as well as the price to repair. My truck gets dirty fast from work and everyday driving, so it needed more than a normal wash. They cleaned the interior thoroughly and got the outside looking sharp again. Very happy with the job.

I recently had A-Tex do some work on my 1957 Thunderbird and it was a great experience. They replaced the wheel bearings, adjusted the shift linkage, replaced the transmission lower gasket to stop a leak and installed a temp sensor. They were very quick with these repairs and JR communicated often. Great classic car shop in North Austin.

J.R. And his crew of highly skilled mechanics go above and beyond! I just took a unique vehicle in that required parts from overseas. I was expecting the process to take weeks and weeks… but J.R. kept in touch with me along the way and had the work done ahead of schedule and under budget.
