Sign in to reviewThis was a really nice Bangladeshi restaurant, one of the best in USA. The parking is only street parking but they were kind enough to let us park in the alleyway beside their cars. The offer a large variety of dishes, specially vorta, sweets and fishes. I wish the liver samosa wasn’t discontinued, but loved their massive jalebi. The food prices are reasonable, and they are open till very late night. They have a grocery shop as well
This place serves good Bangladeshi food in a setting that’s part grocery store, part eatery. The ilish bhorta was sharp and tasty, and the shorshey ilish was perfect. The chicken curry could have used more depth and flavor. While one of the servers was all smiles, we didn’t feel welcomed overall. For any established place, making guests feel welcome matters as much as the food. If we return, I hope the rest of the staff leans into a warmer, more hospitable experience. First impressions matter, and our experience was largely defined by the person at the counter, who came across as rude and dismissive. Maybe he was just having a bad day.
Their Bangladeshi food selection is extensive. The dishes were delicious. We tried various options and especially enjoyed beef paya, chicken roast, and paratha. We also bought a few types of sweets, which were very tasty. Their service is quick, with billing and serving done smoothly and efficiently. Besides the food, you’ll find different types of Bangladeshi spices, ingredients, and vegetables. I also bought raw fish; they cut and packed it very well.
Food was excellent. The taste was home style with extremely good prices. The service was decent and the atmosphere was kinda okay. Probably one of the best Bangladeshi restaurants to try in California.
Whenever we come from North CA/Bay Area, we always stop here, eat Bengali food and do groceries ( frozen fishes, Bengali food , smacks and groceries which we get cheap and good quality than the Bay Area). Prices are good, and quick service. This time I think the young guy is the owner's son, who helped us, packed everything very nicely, and his way of talking is very sweet and respectful. Note : Parking sucks, so be aware of parking in the street, the road is a busy road, and backside parking is very limited and narrow. We will come again, Aladin 🙏.
