Oreo and Batter Up are some of the best flavors I’ve ever had. While their flavors may seem more basic than competitors, they make up for it with the quality of the ice cream. It’s thick, almost doughy deliciousness and one of our favorite spots in Austin. Swing by if you’re in the area!

Amy's Ice Creams is often described as one of the best ice cream spots in Austin, and after hearing our double-decker tour guide rave about it, I was excited to give it a try. I sampled the Mexican Vanilla and Coffee flavors. While both were enjoyable, I found the ice cream to be much thicker and heavier than I personally prefer. The texture is very rich and dense, which many people may love, but for me it felt a bit overwhelming after a few bites. Perhaps my expectations were set too high because of all the recommendations, but I honestly felt that the experience did not quite live up to the hype. The flavors were good, but not exceptional enough to make me want to return specifically for the ice cream. That said, I can understand why Amy's has a loyal following. If you enjoy rich, creamy, and indulgent ice cream, you may have a very different experience than I did. Overall, it was a decent stop and worth trying once, but I found it somewhat overrated compared to the many glowing reviews it receives.

I went last night for ice cream waited for line to be reasonable. Out of cow jugs which was annoying however then I ordered a small. They carry tiny small and large. Half dark chocolate half Mexican vanilla. Be prepared the Mexican vanilla is delicous but not like traditional vanilla much sweeter and tastes like butter cream going on a wedding cake. Small is plenty for one person and a large is more for sharing. Busy place with tasty ice cream. I think a little expensive when toppings are $1.16

I love ice cream and I think this place is phenomenal. The Mexican vanilla gets the recognition it deserves. First pass through did a scoop of vanilla with cookie dough and butter finger and then a scoop of the Belgian chocolate waiting in the waffle cone (photo with the artsy guy from Hey Arnold). The second pass through (had to come back the next day) I went for the coffee on top with chocolate chips and Kit Kat and then the Oreo scoop waiting on the bottom (photo with Will Smith). Incredible. Really quality ice cream and friendly service. Will be back whenever I’m in Austin.

To quote my husband in his first bite of ice cream, "This is amazing! Mmmmmm" My family loved Amy's Ice Creams. We all tried something different, and no one was disappointed. The service is friendly and quick. Be sure to stop by and cool down.
