Asian Health Services - Dental is a dental clinic serving patients in Oakland, CA, at 190 11th St, Oakland, CA 94607, United States. Located in the heart of Oakland, the clinic is a local option for people looking for dental care in a community health setting, especially those who prefer a practical, straightforward place to address oral health needs. For residents, workers, students, and families near downtown Oakland, Chinatown, and the surrounding neighborhoods, its central address makes it a convenient point of care during weekday mornings.

As a dental clinic, Asian Health Services - Dental may be considered by patients seeking help with common dental concerns such as tooth pain, gum discomfort, extractions, checkups, and general oral health questions. The available customer feedback specifically mentions tooth and gum pain as well as a tooth extraction, so patients who contact the clinic should ask directly about the services they need, what treatment options may be available, and whether a cleaning, exam, or follow-up appointment can be scheduled. This is especially important for anyone managing ongoing discomfort or trying to understand the next step in a treatment plan.

The clinic’s listed hours are Monday through Friday from 09:00 to 12:30, with Saturday and Sunday closed. Because the public reviews describe appointment and scheduling frustrations, it is a good idea to confirm the appointment time, arrival expectations, registration process, and any required documents before visiting. Patients may also want to ask whether the provider schedule is limited on a given day and whether there may be a wait. A little preparation can help make the visit smoother, especially for older adults, caregivers, and people arranging transportation into Oakland, CA.

With a public rating of 3 based on 4 reviews, Asian Health Services - Dental appears to have a mixed review profile rather than a uniformly positive one. Some reviewers raised concerns about rushed care, limited dentist availability, and communication around appointments. For local SEO and patient decision-making, that context matters: this dental clinic may still be a nearby option, but prospective patients should feel comfortable asking questions, clarifying fees or coverage, and requesting information about alternatives before agreeing to treatment.

For people searching for a dental clinic in Oakland, CA, Asian Health Services - Dental offers a centrally located address and weekday morning hours. It may be a fit for patients who value proximity, basic dental access, and a community-based setting, while those with urgent pain or complex concerns should call ahead and clearly describe their symptoms. The best experience will likely come from confirming details in advance and communicating expectations clearly at the visit.

Only 1 dentist for several patients. Neglecting patients' concerns and didn't offer any alternative treatments. My father have a severe tooth gum pain, went there and didn't get anything done except for 1 teeth extraction (only take 5 mins). Not even a teeth clean! The dentist was rushing through to just pull that teeth out and wanted to also pull the completely fine teeth next to the pulled teeth. He didn't talk about any other options of treatment and only encourage to take out tenths. The dentist did a bad job at explaining patient teeth circumstances. At least he did respect my father's consent of only removal of one teeth. My father wanted to save as many teeth as possible since they last longer than artificial teeth but I guess the treatment process is a lot of work so this dentist didn't bother to do it. They told us to get artificial teeth, we would have to come several times to remove the teeth, do exam, then do the artificial teeth which sounds extremely long time. It is also a long wait for "new patients". It still take nearly 1 month of wait for an "emergency referral" from AHS. Front desk staff wasn't friendly, I understand that maybe requiring every staff to smile is too much but keeping a cold face and rude tone isn't the deal. Also, the dentist speak Mandarin not Cantonese. Seriously, please avoid this place as much as possible. I feel they are more concern of money than treating their patients right. Let's remember that dentist doesn't even need to go to medical school just dentist school and their standard of qualification is way lower than a Medical Doctor.

My appointment was at 2 PM, and when I arrived at 1:45 PM to register, the receptionist said I was late and couldn't see the doctor that day, so I had to reschedule. I'm really confused and don't understand! Although a lady called the day before to remind me of my appointment the next day and asked me to arrive half an hour early to fill out a form because I was a first-time patient, why was I late and overdue when I arrived 15 minutes early? It probably wouldn't have taken me 30 minutes to fill out the form! After I argued with them, the receptionist went to ask the doctor, and the reply was that "the doctor wouldn't see me." I couldn't believe a clinic would act like that; I was really angry! It was the first time I'd encountered such a clinic. Later, I saw that their rating was so low; I made a mistake, and I will never go there again! I will tell my family and friends about this absurd situation. I want to remind everyone that if you have an appointment with them, make sure you confirm their "required" arrival time, otherwise you'll end up like me, making a wasted trip. By the way, they don't have parking; you have to find a spot yourself, and it can take up to 10 minutes during peak hours.
