Our Homeowner's Insurance was cancelled due to fire risk. (We had AAA for 20 years, no assessment was performed, we meet all criteria of the fire marshal, but this was a cancellation done based on address, we are not in a critical fire zone but nearby one, if a fire were to take our house it would be blazing major pathways into the neighborhoods of Berkeley; such is the situation with insurance in California now.) Brian and his team (I worked particularly with Jeanette) did an excellent job every step of the way. I am confident giving them the highest rating. There was a lot of back and forth, documents and questions, and they were efficient, helpful and professional. To begin with you will set up a phone interview with Brian and he took all the time necessary to review the situation and discuss options before proceeding forward with a plan. He also made some recommendations regarding our current multi-policy insurance portfolio that were helpful and not based on his companies own self-interest. I felt that he was extremely knowledgeable, objective and fair. Be forewarned, if you have a similar predicament, there are very few options now once you have been cancelled like this for fire risk and securing a policy may cost you. They did a great job, but they aren't magicians and we end up with a policy that is more than triple what we were paying for 20 years, for the same level of coverage. Again, I am confident that they were able to secure us the best that was available to us at this time. Best of luck, you are in good hands with Avail.

I just got off the phone with Brian. I did not end up getting insurance through them. However, that is because Brian asked me questions about my current insurance and helped me understand that the deal I am currently getting is not bad in this crazy market. He took the time to explain my options and was willing to do more digging on my behalf. I greatly appreciate someone who has the integrity to turn business away. He could have tried to sell me on something but at the end of the day, he just seems like an honest dude. Thank you for your time Brian. I will check in again next year and hope the market has shifted in our favor.

I would highly recommend working with Brian and Avail. I signed up for my Home and Auto insurance through them. They gave me very competitive rates, to the point where another agent I was talking to admitted that I should probably just go with Avail. They also have been great at helping me handle the variety of requests from the insurance company. They handle most requests on their own to shield me from issues that crop up. For everything else, they have guided me on how to communicate and set expectations on how the insurance company will respond. Avail has been essential at helping me navigate the complex nuances of insurance. They're always willing to take the time to make sure I understand fully what's going on and what my options are.
