Located along the vibrant international corridor of Buford Highway, Bangladesh Halal Meat-Grocery serves the community as a specialized Asian grocery store in Atlanta, GA. Established as an independent neighborhood market, this family-operated business is run by a father and his sons, catering to local residents, international transplants, and home cooks seeking authentic South Asian ingredients and dietary-compliant staples. Its convenient location at 5382 Buford Hwy NE makes it an accessible destination for shoppers traveling throughout the greater Atlanta metropolitan area in search of everyday essentials and cultural goods.

At the core of the market is its full-service halal butchery counter, known primarily for providing fresh halal meats and quality seafood. Regular patrons frequently visit the shop for specialty cuts of goat meat, beef, and a variety of regional fish that can be difficult to source at conventional American supermarkets. The butcher counter provides items cut to order, though shoppers should note that certain items, such as goat leg, may sometimes be sold primarily as whole portions depending on the cut and availability. For households preparing traditional curries, stews, or celebratory family feasts, the meat selection remains one of the store's central attractions.

Beyond the butcher station, Bangladesh Halal Meat-Grocery functions as a well-stocked pantry resource for Bangladeshi, Indian, and broader South Asian cooking. The grocery aisles carry an array of fragrant basmati rice, lentils, specialty cooking oils, and a colorful assortment of whole and ground spices. A standout feature for community members is the collection of authentic sweets imported directly from Bangladesh, offering nostalgic treats and traditional desserts that are hard to find elsewhere in Atlanta, GA. Shoppers can also browse a selection of packaged snacks, teas, and everyday cooking provisions.

The shopping experience at this Buford Highway store reflects the casual, utilitarian nature of a compact family-run market. Operating daily from 10:00 AM until 11:00 PM, seven days a week, the business provides exceptionally convenient late-night hours for working professionals and families needing groceries outside standard retail times. While reviews highlight differing experiences regarding customer service and store policies, many longtime customers appreciate the convenience, the personal connection with the family owners, and the dependable access to fresh halal meats, fish, and imported specialty ingredients.

Don’t ever go to this place even if it’s your final option. Absolutely no respect towards customers. Very rude behavior. They listed Goat leg per lb in the prices list and when asked for 2-3lbs refused to give it. Forced to sell only complete leg which could be 5+ pounds. Looks angry all the time.

Not a very good place to do your groceries. They don’t clean the place very often and the people work there are rude.

Family business ran by father and 3 sons. Good people. Typically gives very good quality meat. Have been shopping with them for several years now. I recommend them over the other halal meat stores that are nearby.

When I was in Atlanta this grocery store was very good compared to the others. We got a good fish and meat to try during my stay 10/10 quality. One key thing is if you are Bengali like me you should try there sweets are are imported from Bangladesh. Owner and staff were sweet and helpful.
