Banh Philly is a Vietnamese restaurant at 2102 Chestnut St in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving traditional Vietnamese dishes with a particular focus on bánh. Customer reviews describe a welcoming place to enjoy familiar Vietnamese flavors, whether you are visiting the city, exploring Vietnamese food for the first time, or returning for a favorite. The restaurant has a 4.1 rating from 194 reviews, and guests often mention the friendly service and relaxed atmosphere as part of the experience.

Some of the dishes reviewers call out are bánh khọt and bánh cuốn. Bánh khọt is praised for its crisp texture, while bánh cuốn gets a special mention for its fried shallots. These details make Banh Philly a useful stop for diners curious about Vietnamese dishes beyond the most familiar staples, as well as for people who already know what they like. One reviewer wished the fish sauce had more flavor alongside the dishes, and another would have liked more lettuce for wrapping bites of bánh khọt. Those specific comments can help set expectations: the way a dish is served and seasoned matters, and diners can ask about accompaniments when ordering.

For returning customers, pork rolls are a standout. One longtime guest says they visit almost weekly and describes the rolls as a favorite, while also appreciating the staff’s friendliness and the relaxing feel of the restaurant. Reviews also mention phở chay, a vegetarian-style phở option, and nước soda chanh, a lime soda that one diner enjoyed. These customer experiences suggest a menu with options to explore across savory dishes, rolls, and drinks; individual tastes will naturally vary, especially when trying a new dish or choosing a meat-free meal.

Located on Chestnut Street, Banh Philly can suit a casual meal with friends, a visit while spending time in Philadelphia, or a return trip for Vietnamese comfort food. Guests describe the cooking as authentic and reminiscent of Vietnamese street food, though each review reflects a personal experience rather than a guarantee. As the name of the store this restaurant it is specified in special types of banh. I love how crispy banh khot is. Bánh cuốn is great because of their fried shallot. I just wish the fish sauce is a little bit more flavorful to go well with those dishes.
