Sign in to reviewBAOS HOG is a must-visit restaurant in Garden Grove! It was my first time in, and Mikey greeted me right away. He was incredibly welcoming! He actually took the time to ask what flavors I liked before suggesting the BOLSA BAO (Asian Taco). It was absolutely packed with flavor, and the pork belly had the perfect amount of crunch. I’ll definitely be back to work my way through the rest of the menu. Thank you for the great experience, Mikey!
1. The duck bao was delicious! 2. The spot has casual vibes! 3. The staff was friendly and timely with my order! It was ready in about 5 mins! Note: There is a restroom available for customers! Photo: Duck Bao
Ordered the Duck, Boss, and Fish baos. The duck one is fashioned to be like Peking Duck style but sadly the duck skin was completely soft and the meat was okay. The boss one is one of the pork belly version which had too much fat for my taste. Both of these came out as room temperature. The saving grace was the Fish bao, since I noticed this one at least seems to be made to order from the kitchen. Came out piping hot and the flavors were really nice.
Easy, breezy, delectable bao buns! Favorites were the duck bao and cow bao. Duck was juicy, the rib-eye was tender and loved the marinade. Bolsa bao was also good, crispy pork skin was on point! Also enjoyed the lychee lemonade and Vietnamese ice coffee, both were delicious.
The first crunchy bite was so savory, I was immediately happy that we stopped and tried this place. Their crispy meat and rice dish is an absolute triumph, delivering an explosion of flavors that dance on your taste buds. Every bite is oh-so-satisfying. This place is fast casual. Walk in, order and then grab a seat to wait for your food. I recommend this place. Try it!
