An excellent full service shop that doesn't shy away from a difficult job. I'm always impressed with the level of work and attention to detail that the employees have for their customers. Recently had an engine repair job that I knew was going to be a pain, but shout out to the team at Bavarian who got it done! 100% satisfied - Cant even think of a second option and I'm glad I don't need to. Thanks for keeping the wagon rolling : )

I have been a long-time customer of Bavarian Auto Repair, and they have always taken fantastic care of my vehicles. Once again, they went above and beyond with my BMW 645Ci. After another shop had problems repairing my car I had it towed here for a fresh set of eyes. Their certified master mechanics know BMWs inside and out. They performed an incredibly thorough diagnostic check and provided the highly detailed digital inspection report they are known for, perfectly tracking down hidden network communication blocks, an undervoltage issue, and an active Valvetronic power fault that the previous shop didn't see. When it comes to BMWs their techs and equipment are the best around outside of the dealership. What I appreciate most about Joey and the team is their absolute honesty. Instead of blindly charging me to guess at a complex software issue, they walked me through the data, explained the exact parameters, and gave me the transparent guidance I needed to make a decision. If you want certified master technicians who truly understand complex German engineering and treat you with integrity, this is the only shop in San Antonio to go to. They have earned my trust for the long haul!

Found my new go-to shop for everything automotive, and Joey at Bavarian Auto Repair is the reason why. Monday morning, torrential downpour on the way to work, I drove through some high water in my 2010 Jetta. Didn’t think much of it until the drive home that evening, when the car started sputtering with the check engine and EPC lights both coming on. Called Joey at 5pm and he immediately had a tow truck contact ready (Allen’s 24/7 Towing, also outstanding, 20 minute response time in downtown San Antonio). Dropped the car off after hours and Joey called first thing the next morning with full diagnostics already done. He found the high water from that morning’s commute had pushed into the ignition coil wells, where an existing valve cover gasket leak had already let oil pool. That combination took out a coil and fouled the plugs. No upselling, no scare tactics, just a clear explanation of what failed and why, with a straightforward repair plan: valve cover gasket, all 5 spark plugs, and the one failed coil. Communication was constant throughout, and he had it ready Wednesday just before close. Even gave me the military discount, sent me home with a thank-you note and a gift bag, and walked me through exactly what to watch for to keep this Jetta running well long-term. At 70k miles on a 2010, he made it clear this car has plenty of life left in it if maintained right and that’s exactly the kind of honest, customer-first advice that earns repeat business. This is what a real repair shop should look like: transparent diagnosis, fair pricing, zero pressure, and genuine care for the customer beyond just the transaction. Joey and the team at Bavarian Auto Repair have a customer for life. Highly recommend to anyone in San Antonio looking for a mechanic they can actually trust.
