One of the tastiest banh mi I’ve ever had. They had the beef betel leaf special with this pineapple fish sauce that was unique and flavorful. Wife got the lemongrass pork which is looking like a fan favorite. The owners are genuinely friendly and recognize all the repeat customers. Plastic chairs reminiscent of the streets of Vietnam is the perfect cherry on top of this charming place. I wish there were more stars to give for the food and vibes.
Fantastic! As someone who is Vietnamese and grew up in Vietnam I would say this is the best banh mi place ever in the US. They have fire Fish Cake banh mi, this one hits really different you must definitely try it! I love their Vietnamese coffee too, very authentic!! absolute amazing
I had my first banh mi decades ago at Hong Phat in Lacey, WA and I've been chasing that feeling ever since. I'm one of those annoying people who judges a banh mi hard, especially the pate and the quality of the ingredients. If anything tastes like it came out of a tub, I'm out. Be Mi passes with flying colors. The bread has that perfect light crackle, and the sandwich is absolutely stacked with fresh mint, cilantro, and scallions, crunchy pickled daikon and carrot, and crispy fried shallots that add this amazing texture. Nothing is an afterthought. Every layer tastes like someone actually cares. And the space itself is something special. Little flags from every country strung across the ceiling, red plastic stools like you'd find on a street corner in Vietnam, plants everywhere, soccer on the TV with the whole room watching together. I came in for a sandwich and ended up hanging out watching the match with a Truly in hand, surrounded by people laughing and cheering. It feels less like a restaurant and more like a house party you got lucky enough to walk into. A huge part of that is Amy and Anthony, the owners. They are the sweetest people and you can feel how much of themselves they've poured into this place. Their attention to detail shows up in everything, from the food to the little touches around the room. Rooting for them big time. Go eat here. Get the banh mi, stay for the vibe. Thank me later.
Best banh mi I've ever had. Very authentic and fresh Vietnamese sandwiches and coffee. Everything is made from scratch daily and it shows. Price is more than fair for pioneer square and the people working there really seem to care about the food.
I moved from California to Seattle and Seattle food scene has not been impressive for me. However, this place might be one of the only few restaurants I can recommend to others. I ordered lemon glass pork (with sticky rice substitution since I’m gluten intolerance), and my partner ordered steak Bánh mì. They were both super well seasoned, packed with flavor and umami, every bite was just so pleasant. The restaurant stuffs were super nice and friendly too, they told us they even bake bread freshly every morning! This place is probably the best sandwich restaurant in the town!! Highly recommended to others to try if they have not done so! FYI: we went there on Sunday and parking was very difficult to find (World Cup final game was on so might not be too crazy on other weekend though). Also every sandwich is made to order so you might have to wait:) ours came out pretty quickly though!!
