Bonheur Hair Braiding is a beauty salon in Hayward, CA, located at 393 A St #4928, Hayward, CA 94541. It is a local option for people searching for hair braiding in Hayward and the surrounding East Bay. The business name and customer feedback point to a braiding-centered experience, with customer requests discussing smaller Dutch-tail-style braids as well as five or six braids created with natural hair. This focus gives prospective clients a clear starting point when comparing nearby salons for a braided look.

Customer discussions show that braid requests can range from a smaller, simple style to work involving more of the head. Before visiting, it may be helpful to clearly describe the number of braids wanted, the preferred finished length, current hair length, and any faded or shaved sections. Sharing a reference image or talking through the desired final look in detail can make the consultation more specific, especially for clients seeking a particular braid pattern rather than a general style.

Public feedback presents a mixed picture. Some customers describe being very pleased with their results, including one reviewer who praised the work as beautiful. Other positive comments mention friendly workers and a good atmosphere, with a returning customer saying they had received hair services there for years without disappointment. These experiences suggest that the salon can be a familiar stop for clients who value braiding results and an approachable salon setting.

At the same time, other reviews raise concerns about communication, pricing, braid length, appointment expectations, and interactions during a visit. For that reason, Bonheur Hair Braiding may be most comfortable for clients who prefer to confirm the details before service begins. Asking about availability, the expected cost, the requested braid length, and whether a visit is a confirmed appointment can help establish shared expectations. Clear, direct communication is particularly useful when the requested style has precise length or sectioning preferences.

Bonheur Hair Braiding has a 3.9 rating based on 30 reviews, offering useful perspectives from a range of customer experiences. The listed hours are Monday through Saturday from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and the salon is closed on Sunday. For Hayward residents looking into a beauty salon with a focus on braiding, it is worth discussing your specific hair goals before your visit so you can decide whether the service approach fits what you need.

I can't say much about their work due to not getting my braids done here, went in for something small like dutch tail. Now my hair length is about 6 to 8 in, but only top part of my head as I have a shave cut fade. asked for the price and I though it was too much, went to the total package salon that's on b st close to downtown and I was very happy with their work and at half the cost of this place. Sorry guys but what your shop was charging me could of gotten me something nicer with more work on my braids.

I would honestly give more stars if the staff wasn't so rude! The woman that did my hair did a beautiful job but her sister's snobby attitude guaranteed that I will NEVER go back! My hair was also braided wayyy longer than I wanted and I wasn't even aware until the end when they brought up how I owed more...How are you going to not even let me know that you are doing extra then hit me at the end to pay more? They will give different prices from the top of their head too. One said $180...the other $187 etc SO UNPROFESSIONAL....Not another penny from my wallet! Prices are typical. They speak in their language and it is obvious they are talking mess (most likely about clients)....was sitting for 6 hours as they drank water with no hospitality to offer any.....the icing on the cake was when I simply asked why the price ended up being more than what was quoted over the phone and this woman BLEW UP and went off on me for no reason! Saying that she "told me it "started" at $150 LIE!!! SHE NEVER SAID THAT! But either way before they start braiding they should explain that they will have to do a longer length based on you real hair and quote BEFORE braiding! All I did was ASK!! I never said I wasn't going to pay the extra because the other woman did a great job. STRAIGHT STUCK UP AND RUDE! Paid the rest and got the hell away from there....

First I called & talked to a woman about what I wanted (5-6 braids with my natural hair) she couldn’t understand me over the phone, she said “come in and I’ll see if I can do it” NOT AN APPOINTMENT! Just a “see if I can do it” 1 minute after the proposed meeting time for me to come into her salon, she is blowing my phone up, calling 3 times in a row… once I answer, she’s yelling at me, asking where I am, stating that I am messing up her business. (Literally 1 minute over the time) I understand if you want to call me 5-10 min after the proposed time, but exactly 1 minute? After being yelled at I told her I wasn’t coming in anymore. Is that you how you treat and talk to a potentially new customer?

I'd like to think I'm a reasonable person: Nobody's perfect, and that includes me which is why I try to give folks second chances. The first time I went to this place, the woman did my hair but she cut corners: There was a HUGE braid in the middle of my head that became very obvious as my hair settled: I generally don't keep my braids in for more than a month because I just like them fresh, but it doesn't explain why the braids were already coming out the day I had it done. I also asked her to put a part in the front on the side. No part. She had her daughter help her so it wasn't like she was overworked. Maybe she was just having a bad day. I decided the next time to try and go back. I called in the evening and we made an appointment for the next morning at 8am. She mentioned she would text me when she was leaving her house, 30 minutes away. After we got off the phone I texted her thanks and that I would see her at 8am. At 7:45am the next morning when I didn't hear from her, I reached out to make sure she was ok. Not only had she not left yet, she completely forgot we had an appointment. I then reminded her and she said she would be on her way. Trying to be patient, I asked her to send me a message when she was actually on her way. She said ok. No message. I finally call her. She now says she's been waiting on someone to come over and do her floors. She's been waiting for a call but hasn't heard back yet. She said she'd call me back. I'm annoyed at this point, it's almost 8am but I keep my cool with her. She does call back to say she hasn't heard from the person. I then trying to be helpful, offer to drive to her. She seems grateful, gives me the address and I head over. It gets WORSE. I get there in fifteen minutes. I call her and she says "I'll be right there". Girl yes, she wasn't even at the address she told me to drive to! She finally shows up and I'm just quiet because I don't have anything polite to say at this point. We go up to her place and she realizes she left the keys downstairs. She goes to get them and comes back. She apologized ahead of time and said her place was dirty but people say that all the time. There was hair and all kinds of stuff all over the place. I finally sit down. My hair is damp and needs to be blow dried. No big deal, pop out the blow dryer and get rolling right? Y'all.....she had the nerve to give me the address to drive over there, and she didn't even have a blow dryer there! Now I'm pissed because her response is "Well, things happen". I started to give her the business after that. She went to somebody and borrowed a blow dryer lol. I told her not to put the big braid in my hair in the middle. She didn't. I also told her that I wanted a part on the side near the front. Nope. No part. At the end she actually said "I don't know how you wanna wear your hair sooo". Really? I give second chances but I don't give third chances. This woman is completely unprofessional, and should not own a shop. Period. Definitely do not go to her place if she pulls a fast one: It's more than dirty it's flithy. I paid her the fee no tip and got the hell outta there. I will never go to this shop and get my hair braided again, I advise you to look elsewhere. Also, guess who showed up to "do the floors".....Nobody!
