About

Boston Homestel is listed on FindALoco in Boston, MA with address, phone, website, and map location.

Boston Homestel is a hostel-style lodging option at 36 Moseley St, Boston, MA 02125, in Boston, Massachusetts. For travelers comparing places to stay in the city, it may be worth considering if a modest, quieter setting is a priority. Customer feedback describes a family-run business with house rules intended to help keep the property clean and peaceful. Those rules are an important part of the experience: guests who appreciate clear expectations may find them reassuring, while travelers looking for a more flexible stay may want to review the rules before booking. The business has a 4.1-star rating from 199 reviews, reflecting a range of guest experiences rather than a single universal impression.

Reviews offer a few concrete details about the rooms and shared facilities. One guest described the four-bed rooms as small, with just enough space for luggage, so travelers bringing several large bags may want to plan accordingly. That reviewer also found the hostel very clean and quiet, and noted that strict rules contributed to the atmosphere. Other comments mention showers and heating, but the available feedback does not establish consistent conditions or specific amenities. In particular, one guest said the heating was not great, a detail worth keeping in mind when choosing a stay, especially in colder weather. As with any shared lodging, experiences can differ by room, timing, and individual expectations.

The atmosphere described by guests is more restrained than lively: reviewers have called the property quiet, and one characterized it as family-run. This may suit solo travelers, budget-conscious visitors, or guests who value a calmer place to return to after spending time around Boston. The compact four-bed room setup may also work for travelers comfortable sharing space and keeping belongings organized. People who prioritize roomy accommodations, a broad range of confirmed facilities, or a social hostel scene should check the details directly before making plans. The feedback is mixed, including some notably disappointing stays, so reading recent reviews can help set realistic expectations.

Boston Homestel is located on Moseley Street in Boston’s 02125 ZIP code. Christina Winkler (?★): The hostel itself is simply lovely. A quite, family run business, very clean and with very many, strict rules, which however helped to make the place as quiet and clean as it is. 4-bed rooms were small enough, and just enough space for luggage. But the heating was not great and the room got very cold during the day (2 walls were facing outwards and we had 3 windows). The mattresses were all foam and very soft. There was free coffee in the kitchen and plenty space in the fridge. The next Tatget is about 15 minutes by foot, but there is a quite expensive grocery store just 2 minutes away as well as several take outs. Good working WiFi connection. The neighbour hood was also very quiet and polite (people greet strangers on the street), so it felt very save. The nearest metro station is only a 5 minute walk away.

Sho Shine (?★): I’ve stayed in hostels across dozens of countries, including several in the US, so I have a good basis for comparison … this was one of my least enjoyable days at a hostel. I booked with free cancellation and a few weeks before my stay …

Dylan Manka (?★): The place was reasonably clean. Boston is the most evil real estate market in the world. Literally the only lodging not run by crooks in the whole area. The neighborhood seemed nice (but 3 blocks away is a bad neighborhood). The showers had …

R P (Mirador) (?★): It was decent enough and comfy enough, but the table in the camper collapsed for seemingly no reason and they ended up charging me for it, which feels scummy to me Edit: I cleaned the room to the best of my abilities. The manager is lying. Maybe he just views me in the worst possible light. Idk. But I did nothing reckless with the table and I cleaned the room. Threw away all the trash and collected the sheets and bundled them together for washing. Im reducing my score based on his response out of the shock of being so insulted
