C&E Auto & Truck Repair is an auto repair shop located at 1366 Doolittle Dr in San Leandro, California, serving people who depend on their vehicles for daily driving, work, and travel. Customer feedback reflects a focus that reaches beyond typical passenger cars: reviews discuss personal trucks, workplace fleets, motorhomes, and RVs. For local drivers looking for auto and truck repair in San Leandro, CA, it is a practical option to consider when maintenance needs arise or a vehicle requires attention before returning to the road. The address provides a clear local starting point for a repair conversation.

Customer experiences specifically mention repairs and maintenance for fleets of trucks, along with service for individual truck owners. RV and motorhome work also appears prominently in feedback, including diagnostic concerns, a generator repair request, house-battery installation, and check-engine-light issues. One reviewer described relying on the shop during a long RV trip, while another noted that the team works on older and newer RVs. For owners of these vehicles, that breadth can matter when comparing a repair shop that understands different uses and configurations. These examples are useful context for owners whose vehicle is larger, more specialized, or used for travel, though it is always sensible to confirm the shop's availability for a particular repair.

Reviews offer a picture of a family-owned operation where customers have valued professional communication, fair pricing, and a willingness to repair a component rather than automatically replace it. A customer who came through a workplace fleet connection wrote that the experience led their household to bring in personal vehicles as well. Another customer characterized the staff as nice and the pricing as fair. The available rating is 3.9 from 26 reviews, which gives prospective customers a useful snapshot alongside the individual comments. As with any repair decision, needs, timing, and outcomes can differ by vehicle and job, but these comments help explain why some local drivers return for ongoing maintenance and repair needs.

The shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM and is closed Saturday and Sunday. Its Doolittle Drive address makes C&E Auto & Truck Repair a local reference point for San Leandro residents, truck operators, and RV owners comparing repair options in the area. Whether the visit involves routine maintenance, diagnosing a dashboard warning, or addressing a travel-vehicle concern, prospective customers can contact the shop to discuss their vehicle, the issue they are seeing, and the scheduling that fits their plans. Planning within the published weekday hours may make that conversation and a visit easier to arrange.

Jose is wonderful and professional. My husband's workplace has taken their fleet of trucks here for repairs and maintenance for many years, which is how we got to know them. He liked them so much that he started taking his own truck there too, and I do as well. Grateful to have a reliable and honest mechanic.

I would give zero stars if I could.. where do I start?.. I brought in my motorhome to be diagnosed and to get the generator fixed as well as a couple other minor issues + have them hook up new house batteries… First and foremost it was sitting there a week and I finally was like I should call them there no way a diagnosis takes a week and they never called.. apparently they had lost my phone number and was waiting for me to call, HADNT EVEN STARTED the inspection because the vehicle was low on gas and suggested I drive 30 miles down to drop off a gas jug instead of them going a few blocks down to get some gas and charge me for it.. Diagnosis was 600 and they couldn’t even simply check the oil health and level, when I asked if it needed an oil change the lady in the front was stuttering. -didn’t do one of the main things I asked which is to look and see if the leveling jacks are down and connect the new batteries to see if they will go up because there’s a blinking light indicating they might be partially down. They’re only worried about making more money. -Quoted me over 1k to fix exterior lights/tail lights. -Quoted me 570 dollars to install two battery trays. -Lied about prices of multiple parts so we decided to confront her about the most egregious one: saying a starter for the gene would be at least 500. When we mentioned that it’s not even close to that she backpeddled and said it was a honest mistake, but pretty much everything else she quoted was overpriced as well. -they charge 200 an hour for labor. Huge red flag but I had waited to even get my rig into the shop there and needed my leveling jacks and gene diagnosed and fixed. But I got neither fixed and only the gene diagnosed if they were even right about what it needs. -tried to charge over 900 to add a starter to generator. -she told me the new batteries were connected for me then as I’m in the car with the mechanic having him pull it out of their junkyard of a shop the mechanic says they didn’t even install them and they’re literally still in the same drawer they were in when I dropped it off never touched. Basically I paid for them to tell me a list of things I already knew save one thing (it’s got a bad power steering pump leak and that’s why my brakes are stiff) not answer any of the questions I initially gave to fix any issues and try to rob me for parts and labor. This allegedly took four hours. There was more rediculous quotes I didn’t even list everything. Stay far far away from this mess of a business. All in all the quote was 10k for stuff you can do at home with the help of YouTube. I feel so incredibly scammed.. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my enemies. Please do yourself a favor and find someone honest.

This review is very overdue. I had no idea how good these guys were till we set out on a year long adventure in an entirely too old RV. These guys are the reason we made it on a year long adventure coast to coast and then some. I trust this old RV now more than any other old used vehicle I've taken on. I'm sorry I am thanking them so late for keeping our family safe and on the road with zero failures, and surprisingly, no fluid leaks of any kind. If you have an older RV that you aren't sure about mechanically, as we were at the time, please do yourself a favor and take it here. Top notch. You, and the people you love will be safe in your ride.

Family owned auto repair that does big trucks. I had a check engine light on my brand new Ford E350 Motor Home. I took the RV back to Camping World where I purchased it, and they said it’s a “Ford Problem” and they’re backedup many months. I went to Fremont Ford, Sunnyvale Ford, Mission Ford, and they could not figure out why there was a check engine light despite Engine Code PO453 - Evap Leak. I was also afraid to take my Ford E350 to non-Ford locations for warranty purposes. As an RV owner - I can’t take my family on long trips I’m good conscience with a check engine light. At C&E’s recommendation, I got Ford Warranties on the phone and was told only Fairfield Ford could work on the Motorhome and they are backed up a few months. I filed a claim to get the vehicle fixed at a non-Ford location which was C&E Trucking. C&E properly diagnosed the vehicle as a bad evap sensor. Unfortunately, the sensor is tied to the fuel system, so fixing it would be a big procedure which was done and the problem finally corrected after two years of driving with a check engine light. I learned something- Fox is a big corporation that doesn’t have the “local, family business touch” to go the extra mile. They probably don’t have the best mechanics as they mass hire. Ford employees themselves couldn’t tell me where to get my Ford vehicle fixed. It’s a HUGE company. They aren’t the best at auto repair. Local shops where the owner is on site are the best. Liz and her Father own C&E and you can feel the “family owned” business trickle through the employees. C&E is a vastly superior auto repair than most shops in the Bay Area. 5 stars ⭐️!!!
