We visited the store and like most guests we wanted to take pictures to promote the store but there were signs everywhere not to take photos. It's a real disappointment, they have a lot of Mexican knick knacks and can actually increase their sales but to each their own. There were two older ladies in the store is dont know which one actually worked there because they were both shopping and discussing the details of the merchandise. I tried taking pictures from the outside but didn't want to upset anyone. You may want to change the name of the store because nobody seems to be 'alegre' from the reviews.

I walked in the store with a group and didn’t see the initial sign at the entrance that said no photos. When I walked around the corner, I thought it looked beautiful and took 3 quick photos. The old man ran from behind the counter to tell me no photos, to which I obliged and said sorry, I didn’t know. As I’m about to delete the photos out of respect, the old man very rudely replies telling me there’s signs all over and points to the smallest, almost hidden, palm sized, hand written “no photos” cards taped below belt level in obscure spots. There were already so many hand written notes with prices and “you break you buy” variants all over the store that the “no photos” sign blended in, on top of not being visible in between merch. In fact, I went back to look at the 3 photos I took at separate angles and you can’t see a single “no photos” sign. Not even a single corner of one when zoomed in. I immediately put down the fan I was going to buy with my friends and left. To have been spoken to rudely in front of a bridal party when I was prepared to make a purchase and had already apologized for making a mistake was beyond disrespectful and uncalled for. I feel validated seeing I was not the only one with a bad experience after reading other reviews, so I decided to share my own. If the owners are reading this: understand kindness and proper signage goes a long way.

I tried to enter this store several times today after 10am which is the posted time they open. I kept walking around and coming back to see if anyone had arrived. At 11:30am I finally gave up and returned to my hotel. I guess hours of operation is only a suggestion. Disappointed.

I went in while leaving my scooter outside. The man watching the store offered to take me in his car to my hotel where there is a fed ex. I just said I’d come back after 1pm to buy the lamps with Patricia the owner. I came by and she was obviously in a sour mood. I asked to buy the lamps and she seemed she didn’t want to sell. I mentioned the man and she said I was lying because he just has a bicycle. I asked to buy the lamp and she refused. She asked me to leave pushed me out and then closed the door and put the closed sign. Before she closed the door I said I guess I’d leave a review she told me to go to hell and she’d reply. I said I guess I’ll see you there and she responds that she’s already there. I guess. Anyway it would have been all three talavera lamps which were about a 400 plus sale in a cheap store. Well, take your chances. They have nice things but the owner is psychotic. I feel very sorry for her and her family and am idly curious for the scathing reply she promised.

Absolutely loved the cats, but the owner was rather abrasive when I took a photo of the view outside the window, yelling at me from across the store. I apologized, deleted the picture, and left immediately. I missed the handwritten "no photos" sign since there were already so many "you break it you buy it" and "watch your children" signs to look at. I wonder how many potential customers she has scared off with her nasty attitude. I would recommend shopping at Plaza Taxco for a more pleasant experience.
