Its 3.8 rating from 416 reviews suggests a visible local spot with both fans and guests who expect more consistency. Positive comments highlight atmosphere, location, vegetarian choices, and the feeling of being transported to a familiar chai stall. Critical reviews mention concerns such as drink balance, shake quality, table cleanliness, and restroom upkeep. Sign in to reviewThis eatery is located in the popular Fremont plaza alongside tons of other Indian and South Asian stores. Being born in Mumbai this place transported me there in an instance. With the musical vibe and local chai shop, this place was offering the full experience. It is located in the corner of the plaza towards the far end, parking on a weekend could be difficult. We visited on a Saturday evening and the place was buzzing with people, trying to get a seat or place the order. It is a self service location with order being placed at the front, and calling your name when it’s ready. We ordered the bun maska, a veggie burger, and a chai. The order prep time was quick despite it being busy. The bun maska, had the tooty fruity inside which is not something I personally like. I did not like the butter used inside, but it was otherwise good. The chai was great and seemed fresh. The veggie burger was very Indian style which was refreshing to try.
🚨 Bought butterscotch shake & coffee . Coffee was ok. But the butterscotch shake is ( scam) just yellow colored water.i think they just blended butterscotch essence with water. Such kind of shake I haven't tasted in my entire life. $7 just got wasted!! 🚨
It’s in a great location - in the strip mall anchored by a very busy Indian grocery mega mart. But that’s about all that it gets right. The ginger tea was flat - too much milk and too little ginger. It gets made fresh though. The corn masala was right out of the canned corn with very little to go with. Extremely disappointing. The ambience is sort of busy but poorly kept. The staff seems too overworked and generally given up. Went for a little pick-me-up, ended with long wait and a big let down.
This place has completely lost its charm. It used to be a great spot to hang out with friends or get some work done during non-busy hours, but after my recent experiences, I won’t be going back or ordering from here again. 1. Hygiene: The tables are left unclean and sticky. The bathroom is a mess—there was even a bicycle inside, tissue papers all over the wet floor, and wonder if it’s water or pee on the ground. I mentioned it to the owner a couple of times and waited 20 minutes, but the bathroom was still not cleaned, so I left. 2. Food safety and quality: While some of their signature dishes still taste authentic, what I found in my recent order was unacceptable. I got paneer Maggi to-go for my kid and discovered a metal shard/wire in the food. I’m just grateful I noticed it before my child took a bite. This raises serious concerns about hygiene and safety in their kitchen. 3. Service and wait times: Long waits have become the norm here. Whether dining in or ordering to-go, I’ve consistently waited around 30 minutes for my food. This time, they completely forgot my order. After waiting 15 minutes during a busy period, I politely checked on it, and it was obvious from their reaction that they forgot. The explanation I got was, “We’re very sorry, as you can see today is very busy.” Being busy is not an excuse for forgetting someone’s order. Overall, I am highly disappointed with the service, hygiene, and food safety at this place. What used to be a favorite spot is now somewhere I can no longer trust or recommend.
Amazing atmosphere. Went there on Sunday evening. Great menu for vegetarians to have small meet and greet. We ordered Masala Chai, Saffron Chai, Bun Maska and Peri Peri Burger. Chai was okay, Deccan Morsels nearby has better Chai but their Bun Maska has egg but the one at Chaiwala Shop is eggless and really tasty. The Peri Peri Burger was great as well. Will definitely visit again
