Sign in to reviewMy partner and I had the platinum menu, $98 per person. The service could have been better if the business didn’t incentivize the servers to sell their products/app. Warning: the servers will ask you to leave a review with their names at the end so majority of these reviews are fake. A lot of reviews say the servers will ask you to get their Chubby membership or ask if you have the app. This is a fact. Our server asked us if we’re interested in getting the membership at least 5x and that is not an exaggeration. The pitch they give you is: - a free plate of premium meat of some sort - some gift cards to their partner restaurants - being told the membership pays itself off with just one visit - the value of their “offer” is over $350!! - they’re the branch with the best offer! They spent more time attempting to sell us the membership over actually trying to engage or provide service. The amount of times they asked, “Do you have the app?”. Yes we already have it. “Are you interested in the membership?”, no, thank you. With the platinum menu, you get 2 “special” plates per person from the platinum and diamond menu. The server will cook these special/premium plates, cut, and serve it to you. After they’re finished with the “expensive meats” they’ll leave you to cook majority of the time with the cheaper meats. They will occasionally come by and help you cook but not to provide service; it’s more so to help you eat faster, leave faster, or sell their product to you. Value for food / was it worth the price? Absolutely not. There was nothing good or outstanding about their quality of meats. You can definitely find something better value wise. Waiting wise; it was about 1 hour 45min to be seated on a Friday night. We received a text and 2 phone calls that our table is ready. We were only a minute walk away because we waited in the car; but when we got there, we ended up waiting another 5mins. We joined the waitlist around 8:30 PM. Sat down around 10:15 PM.
We had a great experience, trying our this place for the first time. The environment and the ambiance really adds on to the whole experience as a whole. I appreciate that they have a drinking/watering station and lots of seating outside and a couple of games to occupy your time while you wait. We ended up waiting 1hr and 20 min ( which we thought would be a 2-3 hr wait ) but it was Def worth it. If other people were willing to wait that long. We knew it would be worth it. Walking inside, the place really takes you into a whole new world. Feels like your in Japan. I appreciate the self serve station and the tablet that you can order from at your table, so your not having to wait too long for your food. You can order meat/food for 70 mins and they have a 90 min dining limit so having the tablet to order really made the experience feel like we were not rushed. We just kept ordering food every 10 mins and the food just kept coming. Regardless of the wait and the cost. We will def be back! Also, shout out to our waiter Johnny, it was very busy but he made us feel taken cared of.
Stopped by for my birthday dinner and it was amazing! The interior is so cool and all the food was even better than last time. The rib finger meat was new and immediately became our favorite. Brian took care of our table really well and I will be back again!!
Aspen, Ryan T and Tayson were very kind and explained everything to us. I really appreciated their patience especially since it was our first time at Chubby Cattle. I would definitely recommend this place and will for sure be coming back. This was an amazing experience for sure and they even sang Happy Birthday to me. For sure a memorable experience, They are the most professional.
This place opened recently, and I decided to give it a try after seeing so many great reviews on TikTok. I’m happy to say the hype is real. The quality of the food was outstanding, the service was attentive and friendly, and the ambiance was on point. Everything felt well thought out, from start to finish. Easily one of the best Japanese BBQ experiences in OC. Highly recommended.
