Located in the Aria, they have a line to get in most of the time, and a lot of take-out orders possible. Had a reservation so it was somewhat easier to get a table even if we had to wait in line with others just arguing about reservations or putting in their info. They need a separate line for existing reservations. A second line inside to the table once you get past the first station. You can watch them make the soup dumplings here through the glass. Food - consistent with other locations, great quality. Service - a bit back of other locations, staffers were running around but it wasn't always clear what we were waiting on to order. Cucumber salad was excellent, just delicious and cool, a little spicy. Soy noodle salad wasn't bad, the pork Xiaolongbao (soup dumplings) were good but small, shaomai were ok, and minced pork noodles weren't bad. Surprisingly, braised beef noodle soup was a hit around the table. I'll have to try it again. And red bean xiaolongbao for dessert was just ok, but interesting to try.
Din Tai Fung is a very famous Taiwanese restaurant and very popular in USA and present in several cities and Infact in other countries as well. They specialise is Chinese cuisine dumplings wantons fried rice and noodles. The homemade dumplings are amazing in this place. The restaurant is located in Hotel Ariya and super huge, in spite of the size to find a place is incredibly difficult. You need to reserve a table well in advance or when you walk in there is at least 1h15 wait. This part need to be managed better but other wise in terms of food taste and quality it is great. Also the service inside was amazing.
This was our second time having lunch at Din Tai Fung in the Aria and this experience was as good as the last. It is highly encouraged to plan ahead as dinner reservations book up days (if not weeks) in advance and lunch books up a day or two ahead as well. Plan accordingly! I do believe they will seat walk ups but the wait can be quite long. The restaurant is beautiful with big views into the dumpling kitchen where you can see the various dumplings being expertly hand folded. The cost feels on par with Vegas pricing. Our server this trip was quick, kind and knowledgeable. She gave good ordering instructions and paced the meal out nicely. We definitely over ordered, as we just wanted to try so much, and she checked in throughout the meal to ensure that we did want to fire the last course, in case we were too full. We absolutely were but full sent it anyway! I just think this is a nice, thoughtful touch to service. We enjoyed almost everything! Some stand outs were surprising! The soy noodle salad was a sleeper hit, as well as the pork chop fried rice. So simple in definition and presentation but packed full of flavor and very crave worthy! The Sticky Rice Shao Mai with Kurobuta Pork & Mushroom was spectacular. The Kimchi dumplings were also full of deep flavor and a little bit of spice! The classic cucumber salad and pork soup dumplings that Din Tai Fung have come to be known for are always a hit! Due to the coursing and the non-pushy atmosphere here, do plan to spend a bit of time in this restaurant. They may be busy and the food may come out fast but at no point are they pushing you to finish your food quickly and get out the door. Such a nice feeling. We spent an hour and a half on lunch here on a Tuesday afternoon. Can’t wait for our next trip!
Finally made it to Din Tai Fung after a long wait—and it absolutely lived up to the hype, then went beyond it. …
I came here for my birthday because I’ve been dying to try DTF. We had a 9:30 reservation and were seated promptly. Service was outstanding. Our server went above and beyond to make sure I was happy and even told us about last call for food. We had the cucumber salad, pork soup dumplings, sticky pork ribs, shrimp fried noodles and the famous garlic green beans. Everything was amazing except for the soup Dumplings. It came out rather lukewarm and they looked extra small. Next time, I would skip the soup dumplings and get the spicy wontons. Overall, good experience and I’ll be back.
