Patient experiences shared online paint a mixed picture. One long-time patient, now living out of state, described Dr. Nguyen as a phenomenal doctor with a great personality, highlighting a long-standing trust in his cardiac expertise. The central location on East Santa Clara Street makes it accessible. The combination of the doctor's medical experience and the ability to communicate in Vietnamese can be particularly reassuring for patients navigating heart health concerns, which can often be stressful. The small exam room setting may contribute to a focused, personal consultation with the doctor.
Choosing a heart specialist is a deeply personal decision. Dr. Ngai X. Nguyen, MD presents an option for those in San Jose, CA looking for a cardiologist who understands their language and has practical experience in cardiac care. As with any medical provider, individuals are encouraged to contact the office directly to discuss their specific needs, confirm current hours, and understand the payment and insurance policies. Sign in to reviewI am writing to formally express my extreme disappointment with the service provided to my father during his post-hospitalization monitoring appointments. During our first visit, we waited two hours past our scheduled time. For the second appointment we arrived early for a 9:00 AM slot, only to be told at 9:55 AM that the doctor does not begin working until 10:00 AM. At 10:05 AM, we were informed the doctor would not arrive until 10:30 AM. Despite being the first patients of the day, we waited over 90 minutes without receiving an apology or timely communication regarding these delays. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable, particularly given your office’s strict $50 late-fee policy for patients. These delays significantly disrupted my father’s dialysis schedule and my work commitments. Due to this disregard for our time and the stress placed on a patient with a heart condition, we will not be returning to your practice. I hope you will improve your scheduling and communication standards to better serve your patients in the future.
The old lady receptionist with the coconut head bowl cut needs to retire or get fired. The way she speaks to patients in Vietnamese is appalling and very disrespectful. She must live a very unhappy life herself to make sick patients feel even worse about themselves. If you call the office and speak English, she will hang up on you lol then someone else who actually speaks English will answer the phone when you call again. Currently the Physician Assistant (PA) is on vacation for 2 weeks. Apparently the PA is the only one who can send electronic prescriptions, pathetic. Bowl cut lady told me “I will ask the doctor to send the prescription ONLY IF it is urgent or you will have to wait 2 weeks” by the way the appointment was 4 days ago and still no prescription is sent. Dr. Nguyen is a cardiologist, please educate me on what kind of cardiac medication is “not urgent”? The doctor doesn’t show up until 10:00 AM so be smart and don’t book appointments at 9:00 or 9:30 or you can expect to wait 60-90 minutes to be seen. An excellent cardiac surgeon, but the company he keeps will send patients away from his practice.
Clear instructions and patient staff. They speak both Vietnamese and English. Small exam rooms.
Hope you like waiting and a rude check in. They pack as many people in - in a day as they can. We waited over an hour on a Saturday. My wife also has a private insurance and they “have difficulty contacting” her insurance. They also only take cash. So if you have a heath care saving card… good luck. Horrible service.
Most phenomenonal Doctor I've ever encountered great personality I'm Irish and a Vietnam vet. He's like the Danny Devito of Vietnamese. I live in Oregon now and we miss him. 2 stents 2006 & 2007
