Dr. Stephen T. Wat, DDS is an oral surgeon serving people in Fremont, California, from 38149 Martha Ave, Fremont, CA 94536. The practice is a local option for patients researching surgical dental care, particularly tooth extractions, wisdom tooth removal, and dental implants, which are procedures mentioned in customer feedback. For anyone searching for an oral surgeon in Fremont, CA, this listing provides a clear address to consider alongside individual treatment needs. Patients can use it to compare local options after a referral or while planning a surgical dental visit. Office hours are not listed here, so it is sensible to contact the office directly for current scheduling and availability.

The available reviews offer a mixed but useful picture of treatment experiences at Dr. Wat's office. Several patients describe Dr. Wat as skilled, and reviewers mention successful wisdom tooth removals, extractions, or implant work for themselves or family members. One patient called the staff absolutely wonderful, while another described the doctor as friendly and helpful. A reviewer who had an extraction also reported a good experience given the circumstances. These comments may matter to people who want an office where attentive staff and professional skill are important during a procedure. They also show why a direct conversation about proposed care can be valuable before an appointment.

Practical planning is especially important before receiving care. Several reviews reported unexpected insurance concerns, including a Delta Dental policy that reviewers believed would be accepted but later found was not. Because coverage, network status, benefits, and patient costs can vary by plan and procedure, confirm those details with both the office and insurer before treatment. Asking about expected out-of-pocket costs, billing arrangements, and any required authorization can help avoid surprises. One separate review described an implant appointment in which the treatment recommendation changed after the procedure had begun. That is one reported experience, yet people considering implants may reasonably ask about diagnostic imaging, treatment rationale, alternatives, and financial implications before proceeding.

With a 3.4-star rating from 11 reviews, this Fremont oral surgery listing presents varied experiences rather than a single story. It may be most relevant for local patients referred for wisdom tooth extraction, other tooth removals, or implant treatment, as well as families comparing nearby specialists. The listed Martha Avenue address can help Fremont residents identify the practice when researching care. Before making an appointment, ask about timing, the procedure recommended for your situation, expected follow-up care, and insurance or payment details. It can also help to write down questions before speaking with the office. Clear answers can help patients make a better-informed choice for their oral health.

Dr Wat conducted extraction, implants, and wisdom tooth removal for me and my daughter. His work is impeccable and he is highly skilled. We will be using him for our next wisdom tooth removal this year! Highly recommend. Friendly and helpful doctor.

Just wanted to echo what other people have been saying about this place. They don’t accept most insurance, but they don’t tell clients that. I had Delta Dental and they definitely don’t accept it. I only came here because I needed to quickly extract my wisdom teeth and my dentist recommended them since they’re in the area. However if you have time to look for good service and to not be charged so much money, I recommend to look elsewhere. When I was a patient here, they told me the rates of coverage for my insurance as 60%, which is the out of network cost, but they never mentioned that mine is out of network. Just to give an idea of the costs, extraction of two wisdom teeth without the going to sleep type of anesthesia, was about $2k, and then they applied my out of network coverage, so I still payed maybe 1k

I agree with Cindy's comments, while this dr. Did 2 wisdom tooth extractions for my daughter and came back good, they told us that they accept dental dental insurance but in reality, they did not and my husband had to pay the cost $$$$. My advice is to find out with the insurance if the Dr is in the network. I felt intimidated because the secretary wanted to sign and I said I need to take this home and read it .

My husband visited Dr. Wat on Oct. 2022 having an initial evaluation for dental implant. Without any x-ray, Dr. Wat recommended the dental implant right away. On the day of implant, after cutting my husband's gum and putting a pin, Dr. Wat decided it's not good for my husband to have an implant. Dr. Wat took a bone fracture from my husband mouth and sent to lab. If Dr. Wat could make the right decision during the initial evaluation, my husband wouldn't have to suffer the pain from the oral surgery. The pain had lasted for several weeks with swollen cheek. On top of all these, we had to pay around $400 out of pocket. I won't recommend Dr. Wat. He doesn't know what he is doing.
