Been coming to Hannah for my haircuts for the last 2 years now and she’s the absolute best! She’s extremely skilled at men’s haircut with combover style and I also got my first ever perm from her. She’s always patient and helps me capture the style that looks best for my head shape. Also one of the nicest and most patient people I’ve ever met. Would definitely recommend!!

I had a 5:00 PM appointment on Saturday 12/27/25 with this stylist at Eddie’s Edition: The Row (DTLA). I arrived slightly late due to traffic on the 101, but within the 10-minute grace period stated on the website, which is important. 💈 Location: The space is very small, yet when I arrived the stylist was nowhere to be found. I parked directly in front, checked in, and was told to have a seat because he’d be “right back.” After waiting close to 10 minutes, I messaged him through the booking portal: “Hey, I arrived about 10 minutes ago.” ✂️ Stylist: When he returned, he walked right past me. No greeting. His energy felt tense. He said he thought I was a no-show and appeared visibly annoyed. I apologized and tried to keep things cordial, as it was our first appointment together. I showed reference photos directly from Eddie’s Edition’s website under his own profile, assuming these were examples of his work. I pointed to a specific style, and he suggested doing a skin fade to achieve the look. Despite my 5:00 PM booking, he didn’t start cutting my hair until around 5:30 PM. There was no hair wash before or after (Danny usually does both). I tapped my card at 6:06 PM and was out the door by 6:07 PM. Since I was parked directly in front, I observed the stylist immediately greet his next client warmly and wash their hair before starting. 💇🏻‍♂️ Haircut: The recommended skin fade was uneven and only partially executed. The lower right side of my nape was shaved noticeably closer than the rest. He went over this area repeatedly, yet the imbalance remained. The sides and back lacked consistency, and although I asked that my hair not cover my ears, hair was left over my left ear but not the right. The result felt rushed. 💰 Pricing: At the time of booking, the Eddie’s Edition website listed a men’s haircut with this stylist at $40. I was charged $55 at checkout, with no discussion or explanation. ⏰ Service: I don’t need constant conversation during a haircut. Silence isn’t the issue. The issue was the persistent tension from the moment the stylist arrived, as if my appointment was an inconvenience despite being scheduled properly and within policy. After reflecting on this visit and past experiences, I realized this was not an isolated incident. While technical skill here can be solid, the overall energy at this shop has increasingly felt unwelcoming and elitist, which eventually discouraged me from returning. Appointments often feel rushed, and while punctuality matters, that pressure should not translate into uneven service. In a prior experience, after missing an appointment, I was contacted on my personal phone multiple times in an aggressive tone and then told via text to never book again. While I acknowledge being late or missing an appointment in the past, I was never charged a cancellation fee nor approached about one, which made enforcement feel inconsistent. ⚠️ UPDATE ⚠️ After posting this review, Eddie’s Edition responded stating I violated their cancellation policy and suggested I remove my review on that basis. While the policy exists during the booking process, it has not been consistently enforced in my experience. More importantly, their response did not address the haircut quality concerns outlined above and focused solely on policy. No cancellation fees, warnings, or violations were discussed with me at the time of booking or service for this appointment. They also stated there was “no record” of the $40 price. However, at the time I booked, the website listed this service at $40. After their response, I revisited the site and noticed the price has since been updated to $55. I’m sharing this to explain why the charge felt confusing. I’m adding this update for transparency. This review reflects my experience as it happened. I encourage clients to read multiple reviews and form their own impressions.

Honestly, Egan is the best barber that I’ve had. He just nailed exactly what I was looking for and has been consistent every single time. I can come in and know that I’m getting exactly what I want, every. single. time. I also want to mention that I’ve been to barbers who were “the cream of the crop” and even “tiktok famous” influencers and hair stylists and honestly I’m settled here with Egan. Quality guy with quality cuts. If you’re looking for someone who’s going to work with you and give you what suits you best AND execute it well, Egan is the guy.

I highly recommend Hannah! She’s an incredibly professional stylist that really cares about your hairstyle and her service. She’s a specialist with perms and haircuts, and I was satisfied every time I left. This time we tried a relatively messy perm hairstyle and I’m very happy with the results. Also a very nice person to interact with, so give it a try!

Egan at the Arts District location cut my 8th-grade son’s hair the day before school started. It is always a little risky to get a haircut so close to the first day of school. My son was on the fence about it because he was worried the stylist would cut his hair too short, as that had happened a few times before. He had been growing out his bangs all summer and was nervous about losing the length. My son is a little on the quiet side if he doesn’t know someone, but he is very specific about how he wants his hair to look. Egan was so amazing with him. I wish I hadn’t taken so long to write this review because it is so well deserved. My son and I wrote down notes about what he wanted for his haircut. Part of the challenge with his previous cuts is that he doesn’t always know what he likes or doesn’t like yet. Egan was so patient and took his time, starting with the back and sides, showing my son how it looked before moving to the next section. He preserved the length in the front and gave helpful styling advice. The entire experience was so pleasant. This is unrelated to my son’s haircut, but the salon itself is so aesthetically pleasing. It is clean and minimal, which I love. They also carry Milbon hair products. Another stylist offered me a seat in a comfortable chair, and the whole salon had such a welcoming and mellow vibe. I don’t think Egan knows how well he did because my son walked out a little anxious, and it wasn’t until we got into the car and then home that he realized how much he really loved his haircut. We drove from Rancho Palos Verdes, and it was absolutely worth the drive. I read so many reviews before choosing Egan, and I’m so glad we found him.
