Very Disappointed With Elara Home Health I am extremely disappointed with the care my mother received from Elara Home Health. Unfortunately, based on our experience, I cannot recommend this agency. There was a serious lack of communication and follow-through regarding my mother’s wound care and IV antibiotic treatment. On one occasion, a nurse, Martin Tranee, reported that my mother had “gone back to work.” This was not an accurate representation of what happened. My mother went to her workplace briefly to pick up some personal items and take care of a few things. She had already explained that she would not be home during the scheduled nursing visit because she had errands to take care of with my father and would be returning later. What is even more concerning is that my mother did not receive a single dose of the antibiotics from Elara Home Health, despite the expectation that they would assist with her treatment. We were also told that nurses were not willing to stay and complete the treatment and that my mother would essentially have to administer the treatment herself. Given her age and medical situation, I find this completely unacceptable. When a family trusts a home health agency with a loved one’s wound care and antibiotic treatment, we expect communication, reliability, and appropriate hands-on care—not for the responsibility to be placed back on the patient. This experience has left our family extremely frustrated and disappointed. I strongly encourage anyone considering Elara Home Health to ask very specific questions about who will actually provide the treatment, how missed visits are handled, and what support the patient will receive.
This company is so unprofessional, I have been working here for years, and they just can't seem to get things together. I know my schedule and what I'm supposed to work. And I'm not getting paid for all my hours. They don't do over time but I have been asked to work extra hours then they wanna cut my days so they don't have to pay me over time. Which is bs, they need to pay me what I work. Not to mention there is never a supervisor to speak too. The woman who work in the office are rude. I have had to call the office multiple times to have my hours I worked fixed and they wanna sit here and argue with me about my hours like I don't know my schedule. Not my fault the app we use sucks. The only thing that's stopping me from finding another job is the individuals I care for. Cause one of the ones I have is not well taken care of by her other provider and she is neglected, but this company continues to allow it to happen. I'm surprised the state ain't been called yet. This company most definitely needs to be looked into and some changes need to be made cause it is definitely a hot mess.
Over my 15+ years in the medical field as both a Medical Assistant and Home Health Care Provider, this was by far the most unprofessional and poorly managed company I have ever worked for. Unfortunately, my experience — along with my client’s — reflected a consistent pattern of disorganization, poor communication, and lack of accountability. Throughout my time with the company, my client endured multiple unnecessary case manager and caregiver changes, creating instability and emotional distress. There were also serious concerns regarding staff conduct, including incidents involving inappropriate behavior, property damage, and an overall lack of compassion and professionalism toward vulnerable patients. Equally concerning was the company’s failure to support and communicate effectively with its employees. Important policy and scheduling changes were often made without proper notification to either staff or clients, creating confusion and unnecessary hardship for everyone involved. On a personal level, I spent nearly a year struggling with the company’s timekeeping system and mobile application, which was consistently unreliable and frequently failed to register my location correctly when clocking in or out at my client’s residence. Despite repeated attempts to resolve these issues through daily communication with the timekeeping department, payroll problems persisted. As a result, I experienced delayed compensation and inconsistent pay due to errors that were entirely outside of my control. As someone deeply committed to patient care and professionalism, it is disappointing to say that this organization failed both its clients and its employees on multiple levels. I cannot recommend this company to healthcare professionals seeking a supportive work environment, nor to families seeking dependable and compassionate care for their loved ones.
I’m struggling to understand how this place has four star review. I’ve been trying to get a hold of my case supervisor for almost 3 weeks now just to bring my mom on as an attendant to help me with my son. I’ve called the office, I’ve called the supervisor and I keep running into a brick wall. Does anybody in this office work because surely after three attempts by phone call, two attempts by email, 2 attempts to relay a message from office to coordinators, somebody should have contacted me by now. At this point, I’m beyond frustrated and having to switch companies is just another hoop that I’m gonna have to jump through.
My client recently went to the hospital and after he was released I tried to get my hours turned back on. I contacted my supervisor but the only response I got back was that they weren’t turning my hours back on. The text I received wasn’t even a grammatically correct sentence and when I tried to respond they ghosted me. I am not the only employee this has happens too. My coworker is currently experiencing the same issue but now they’re trying to charge her back pay for hours she never worked. I’ve been with the company over a year and in that time I’ve had three different bosses and they’ve tried things like this in the past. I would also like to state that because of the lack of Communication and diligence the client did not have any help/Aid for the past couple days. Starting 4/4-4/7.
