I recently had the pleasure of visiting Expression Hair Salon during a weekend trip from FL to SFO, and I can't recommend them enough! Initially, I had booked an appointment elsewhere but was turned away due to the specific style I wanted. Feeling a bit discouraged, I stumbled upon Expression Hair Salon and decided to inquire about walk-in availability. From the moment I walked in, the receptionist was welcoming and accommodating. They took me right in and introduced me to Irene, who would be styling my hair. She took the time to listen to my requests and explained the necessary steps, especially given the condition of my damaged hair. I appreciated her honesty and care in addressing my concerns. Irene's skills truly amazed me. She handled the cutting, bleaching, and dyeing process with exceptional precision. Moreover, she added some hair treatments to ensure my hair looked and felt healthy afterward. The results were fantastic, and I left the salon feeling rejuvenated and satisfied. Overall, my experience at Expression Hair Salon was outstanding. I am thrilled with the service I received and will definitely return on my next visit. Thank you, Irene, for your expertise and care!

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated with my experience at eXpression Hair Design in Southgate. This was my first time coloring my hair in over 5 years, so I was looking forward to a change. I specifically chose a 4N Medium Brown to lighten my natural black hair. The service was a complete disaster for several reasons: 1. Rushed Process: It felt like the stylist was in a huge hurry because there were other customers waiting behind me. As soon as she finished applying the dye, she rushed me to the sink to wash it off immediately. She didn't let the color process for the required 30+ minutes needed for virgin black hair. 2. Zero Results: Because she didn't let the dye sit, my hair is still exactly the same—jet black. There is absolutely no hint of the medium brown I asked for. 3. Dishonesty & Lack of Consultation: When I complained that the color didn't change, she simply told me, "If you want that color, you need to bleach it." If that was the case, she should have told me BEFORE starting the process. Instead, she took my money, did a rushed job to get to the next customer, and gave me zero results. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

First time dying my hair and I was able to book Irene last minute on the same day. She is amazing and she was able to color and style my hair to my liking. I will come back for Irene every time I need a touch up or hair cut in the future. Thank you again Irene! My Balayage came out even more beautiful than I expected, so happy with the results! ~

I’ve been going to Irene for years. I don’t trust anybody else with my hair. She does beautiful hair coloring. I also appreciate that she also always makes sure she doesn’t damage my hair. Harrison also cuts my son’s hair. He’s patient with my 5 year old and pays attention to the small details that others don’t.

Irene does the best dye jobs. Been coming here for so long. Trust her to get my hair to what I need it to be for events or even just for confidence.
