Sign in to reviewI was in L.A. on a business trip and stumbled across Far Bar while searching for a Happy Hour spot—and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere here is incredible. I kicked things off with the spicy edamame and Ming’s Wings, both packed with flavor and absolutely delicious. What really makes this place stand out, though, is the vibe. The bartenders are not only skilled but genuinely friendly, offering great food and drink recommendations. The regulars at the bar welcomed me right in, making it feel more like a neighborhood hangout than just a stop on a trip. If you’re visiting Los Angeles and staying anywhere near Little Tokyo, Far Bar is a must. And take my advice—ask for Nate. He’s an outstanding bartender who makes the experience even better.
Honestly, this place is such a vibe. People were friendly too. Wings were delicious. Literally no complaints. I went solo and sat at the bar between people and ended up conversing with the people on both my sides. If you're friendly and looking for other friendlies, this might be a good spot to put yourself out there.
For a reliable late-night dining spot in Little Tokyo, this restaurant delivers both quality food and a welcoming atmosphere. The casual setting is comfortable and inviting, ideal for relaxed meals or drinks with friends. I tried the Far Bar roll, which showcased fresh fish and a bold, flavorful spice profile. Service was consistently attentive—staff were knowledgeable, responsive, and mindful of dietary restrictions, including food allergies. The food arrived promptly, reflecting efficient kitchen operations. Pricing was reasonable relative to the quality and portion sizes. Overall, this location offers a dependable combination of taste, ambience, and service, making it a strong recommendation for anyone seeking late-night sushi and drinks in the Little Tokyo area.
Been here a few times. Good food a great vibes. Awesome bar to catch a Dodgers game.
Thoroughly enjoyed Far Bar’s happy hour, which runs from 3-7pm Monday to Friday, and all day Monday. Best value play is the Burger Special ($13), which includes fries and a Sapporo or soda. Wings are also excellent. Will try their shrimp tacos next! Service is awesome and the vibes are casual yet with a classy decor (especially outside). Love this historic spot!
