Fifth Gear Automotive Repair - Frisco

I reached out to Fifth Gear Frisco last minute towards the end of the day, and they were still able to schedule me right away for a complimentary visual assessment of my car for the next day. Dennis and another serviceman I briefly spoke with were very communicative and clear with the process informing me that the Frisco location was a satellite location and that they offer pick-up and drop-off of customer's vehicles, which worked even better for us! I plan to update this review once services are complete, but so far even the initial phone consult was such a pleasant experience, I had to leave a shoutout for the professionalism and customer service I received from the gentlemen behind the phone. UPDATE: overall, our experience with Fifth Gear was great! There was a little hiccup with scheduling but Dennis and his team resolved it immediately. I failed to mention how soon I needed my car back, so that was on me! Even so, they were able to accommodate and return my car on time. They forgot to change out the cabin filter (most likely because I unintentionally rushed them), but they called to inform me and made adjustments to my bill accordingly. 10 stars for integrity and customer service!!

I had a great first experience with Fifth Gear Automotive. They repaired my rear brakes and completed my 80k service on my Range Rover at an amazing price—nearly $2,000 less than the quote I received from Frisco Land Rover. The work was completed quickly, and they also performed a thorough inspection of my vehicle to check for any additional issues. I’m very impressed with their service and happy with my decision to switch to them for my car care needs.

The work was excellent, but communication was lacking. I made an appointment to drop my car off in Frisco, but no one was there to meet me. I drove my car to the shop in McKinney, and no work was performed for the whole 1st day that the car was there. I felt like it was my responsibility to call and check on progress, rather than having updates provided by the mechanic and/or sales staff. Everyone was very responsive when I called, and the quality of the work is great. There are kinks to work out in terms of satellite locations/online bookings & customer communication.

I had a very frustrating experience with Fifth Gear. I spent over $2,000 and my truck’s problem was still not fixed. After all that time and money, the issue came back, which makes it clear the root problem was never properly diagnosed or repaired. What is most upsetting is paying that much and still ending up with the same problem. I trusted them to identify the issue and fix it correctly, but instead I lost money, time, and confidence in their work. For a shop that charges premium prices, I expected much better service, better diagnosis, and actual results. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend Fifth Gear

There was some confusion at first when I tried to drop off my car at the Allen site, as there was no drop box. But, overall, from the time they picked up my car at work to when they dropped it off at my home it was a fairly pleasant experience. Dennis, who I communicated with, was patient, informative, and understanding of my concerns and questions. Both men who picked up and dropped off my car were professional and courteous. I did get frustrated at one point when I had not heard back from them for a few hours, but they replied fairly quickly when I contacted them asking about the status of my car. These guys, from beginning to end, were amazing. Keep it up, and thank you!!
