If you're looking for a curly haircut in the Seattle area, especially if you have textured or curly hair, Foxycut is hands down the best salon!!!This isn't one of those places where someone took a single curly hair class and suddenly calls themselves a curly hair specialist. The stylists here are deeply invested in their craft, and it shows!! As a queer BIPOC person with very thick, dense curly hair, I've been to more "curly specialists" than I can count. Miguel is amazing!! He's cut my hair through so many stages of my hair. From chronic illness flare ups to postpartum hair loss, and everything in between. Every time I leave the salon I leave with more confidence and energy. What I appreciate most is that you don't just get a great curly haircut. Miguel takes the time to explain what he's doing, teaches you how to care for your curls at home, and recommends products that actually work for your specific hair. Beyond the incredible haircuts, Foxycut has created a genuinely welcoming space. It's one of the few salons where I truly feel comfortable as a BIPOC, LGBTQIA+, and neurospicy/neurodivergent person. You can tell they've put real thought into making the salon inclusive, affirming, and accessible. Foxycut is everything you need!! They have an amazing balance of understanding textured hair while genuinely caring about the person in the chair. They put equal effort into perfecting their craft and creating a welcoming, safe space where you feel comfortable and valued. I’ve been going to Miyoko for about a year now and have never been short of amazed at her skillset. I have a lot of light brown hair that I’ve been growing out from a buzz cut, and I currently have it bleached almost white with long layers and an undercut. In the last year I’ve been able to grow my hair out quickly while going as light as possible, which is saying a LOT about her ability to healthily bleach my hair. It’s also not easy to find a stylist who can barber, do extreme color changes AND expertly style my unruly nest-prone hair, but she does it no problem (she also has a lot of barbering experience which is pretty dope for me). I also love the vibe of this salon and appreciate their very community-focused and approachable atmosphere. Every stylist there seems phenomenally talented - I log a lot of hours there waiting for my hair to process and I’ve never seen anyone leave unhappy with their outcome. I found this place online and loved the messaging on the website, then picked Miyoko based on her stylist profile on IG, and couldn’t be happier with my choice. I will continue to be a customer here as long as I live in Seattle.

I have naturally curly, frizzy Indian hair that was damaged from years of straightening, and Miguel brought my curls back to life without any chemical treatment. He truly understands textured curly hair and knows exactly how to work with it. The moisture treatment made a huge difference and his recommendations for managing and styling my curls have been incredibly helpful. If you have curly, frizzy, or damaged hair, especially if you’ve struggled to find someone who understands textured hair, I highly recommend booking with him!

Thank you Miguel! My daughter’s hair became very curly quickly but unevenly in middle school. She damaged it trying to keep it straight. She cut bangs. She tried all manners of products. She left other ‘curly hair cuts’ in tears or laughter or both. Miguel listened (for real), understood her goal, walked her through stages required to get there, gave her an amazing fine curly hair cut, but ALSO patiently taught her how to care for and manage her hair. From how to wash roots/scalp to how much to rinse, how to apply products, how to use her dryer. Not just telling her what to do but having her do it while he patiently and kindly coached her. Suggested products but did not push them - and explained product attributes so we could look otherwise. After asking around, I realize how well priced his cut was for long thick curly hair. Even more affordable given the history of paying for bad cuts, heaps of the wrong products, time lost to tears and frustration, etc. I am just now learning this curly hair math. My kiddo’s radiance and confidence and knowledge is real and permeating. She went to school on a cloud this morning. Enlisting Miguel for the other kid, asap. And, who doesn’t want a reason to be in Georgetown more often?

I’ve been coming here for over 2 years now, and Foxycut is definitely the best place in Seattle I’ve found for curly haircuts. Miguel always takes care of me and gives me a great cut/style every time, along with recommending products and care methods to keep my hair healthy.
