Fremont Foreign Auto Repair Shop is an auto repair shop located at 38623 Fremont Blvd #110 in Fremont, California, a convenient local option for drivers who want attentive help with their vehicles. With a 4.8 rating from 164 reviews, the shop has earned notably positive feedback from customers who value clear communication and careful problem-solving. Reviewers repeatedly mention Eduardo and the team by name, describing a repair experience that feels knowledgeable, straightforward, and focused on explaining what the vehicle needs. For Fremont, CA motorists comparing independent repair options, those firsthand accounts provide useful context. They also give prospective customers an indication of the communication style they may look for when a repair decision involves unfamiliar mechanical details.

Customer stories especially point to experience with Volkswagen vehicles, including air-cooled vintage Beetles. One owner brought in a 1966 VW Bug with a front-end concern after finding that few shops were equipped for that type of work. Another VW owner says Eduardo identified an engine issue, walked through both better- and worse-case outcomes, and offered advice that helped the customer decide how to proceed. A separate reviewer says a problem that other shops had not resolved was recognized quickly as an age-related issue common to certain VW models. These experiences make the shop a relevant place to consider for Volkswagen owners seeking informed diagnostic attention.

Reviews also describe work on other European performance and luxury vehicles. An AMG GTR owner reports that the team repaired three fuel injectors professionally and efficiently, at a substantially lower reported cost than a dealership estimate, and also addressed rodent-damaged wiring without an added charge. A Mercedes E-Class owner who encountered overheating after a do-it-yourself water-pump and thermostat project likewise turned to the shop for help. While every vehicle and repair need is different, these customer accounts reflect a team accustomed to listening closely, identifying issues, and discussing practical next steps rather than leaving drivers uncertain. The feedback does not make every repair outcome the same, but it consistently emphasizes responsiveness and explanation alongside the technical work.

The atmosphere described in reviews is less about sales pressure and more about useful, vehicle-specific guidance. That can suit owners of classic VW Bugs, Mercedes models, AMG vehicles, and drivers who simply want an independent Fremont repair shop where questions are taken seriously. Fremont Foreign Auto Repair Shop is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM and is closed Saturday and Sunday. Its Fremont Boulevard address makes it a local weekday option for scheduling service, discussing a concern, or seeking a professional assessment when a foreign-car issue needs closer attention.

If you own a Volkswagen—especially an air-cooled vintage Beetle—this is the place for service. My 1966 VW Bug is a daily driver for my kid, so when it developed front-end issues, I needed a shop I could trust. I initially thought it needed a new ball joint, and very few shops can handle that kind of work anymore. In fact, Fremont Foreign Auto was recommended by a wheel-and-brake shop in San Leandro that wouldn’t touch an old Bug. Eduardo, the owner, quickly diagnosed the problem and came back with good news: the ball joints were fine. What the car actually needed were new tie rods and a steering damper, along with a rear main seal to address an oil leak. Eduardo is a true car guy—he owns a ’60s Bug himself—and he had (or sourced) all the parts needed for a fast, fairly priced, high-quality repair. What really impressed me was the pride he takes in his work. When I picked up the car, he had also replaced several cheap hoses and swapped out old screws for new ones—tasks that weren’t even on the quote. Knowing my kid drives this car every day, I genuinely feel better having it in safer condition… or at least as safe as a ’60s Bug can be. I’ve found my forever shop for my Bug. Highly recommend Eduardo and Fremont Foreign Auto.

If you own a VW bug, and looking for a mechanic, look no further because Eduardo is your man!! He’s the best! He’s very knowledgeable, honest and very helpful. He pointed out what was wrong with my engine. He explained the best and worst case scenario. So I took his advice and I’m so glad that I did. Now my engine purrs like a kitten! I’m definitely going back to him to get my suspension done. He really cares about the safety and quality of your car. My only request of Eduardo is…. Please Don’t retire anytime soon!!!

Eduardo is an absolute wizard! I had an issue that multiple shops couldn’t solve for weeks. Then someone recommended this place. Within an hour of dropping off my car, he knew exactly what the problem was—apparently something that happens to these VW models at a certain age. Even more surprising, the wipers and airbags were both tied to the same issue. A few hours later, I was back on the road, driving home happy. Thank you so much! I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending you to friends.

Highly recommend this repair shop especially if you have an AMG, they're so professional and efficient on fixing 3 of the fuel injectors of my AMG GTR, took me 3k less compared to the dealer (Jesus). And helped me fixed broken wires bitten by rats without charging. They also recommended some nice items for my car to maintain a better engine health.

Eduardo and the team at Fremont Foreign Auto are exactly the kind of shop that's hard to find anymore. I'm a DIY mechanic and made a small but costly mistake on my Mercedes E-Class — missed one part during a water pump and thermostat job, which caused overheating. I called several shops for help and every single one insisted I buy a new water pump from them before they'd touch it. Eduardo was the only one who actually listened, asked the right questions over the phone, and said "come on in." He worked with the OEM part I already had, kept my two-day-old components that were in perfect shape, ordered a fresh gasket, and had everything sorted same day — with an honest estimate upfront and no surprises at pickup. What I appreciated most was the respect. No condescension, no upselling, no making me feel stupid for my mistake. Just a team of guys (shoutout to Martin too) who knew what they were doing and treated me like a capable adult. That's rare. I'd drive two hours back just to give them my business again.
