German Auto Repair is an auto repair shop at 1444 Manhattan Blvd in Harvey, Louisiana. It serves drivers looking for help with vehicle repairs in the Harvey area, with customer feedback reflecting a range of experiences. The shop has a 4.3-star rating from 242 reviews, offering a useful snapshot of how customers have described their visits while recognizing that repair needs and outcomes differ from one vehicle to another.

Reviews mention work involving ride airbags and communication with a vehicle’s main computer, as well as a headlight locking mechanism. These examples suggest that customers have brought in vehicles with varied repair concerns, including issues with vehicle systems and components. The available information does not provide a complete service menu, so drivers with a particular make, model, warning light, or repair need should contact the shop to confirm whether it can help and what diagnostic steps may be appropriate.

Some customers describe the team as friendly, helpful, and a pleasure to work with, and one review specifically praises staff members Chuck, Arnie, and Reynaldo. Other reviewers raise concerns about repair costs, additional labor charges, communication, or whether an issue remained after service. That mixed feedback is worth considering when choosing a repair shop. Before authorizing work, customers may want to request a written estimate, ask which labor and parts are included, clarify any warranty coverage or additional charges, and agree on how the shop will communicate about unexpected findings.

German Auto Repair may be worth considering for Harvey-area drivers who want to discuss a vehicle repair with a local shop, particularly when their concern resembles the system or component issues mentioned by past customers. It may also suit people who value direct conversations with staff and want to understand the proposed repair before proceeding. As with any repair visit, sharing the vehicle’s symptoms and repair history can help establish expectations; asking what will be inspected, what the estimate covers, and how follow-up concerns are handled can make the process clearer.

The shop is open Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and closed Saturday and Sunday. Its address is 1444 Manhattan Blvd, Harvey, LA 70058. If you are planning a visit, confirm availability and discuss your specific repair needs with the shop beforehand. For local drivers comparing auto repair options in Harvey, the combination of customer reports about helpful staff and other reports about pricing and repair outcomes provides practical context for deciding whether German Auto Repair is the right fit for the vehicle and the service conversation you need.

Completely disappointed in the outcome of bringing my car to the shop after almost $10,000 in repairs. Although they were able to resolve the issue with the ride airbags and the communication on the main computer, when I picked up my vehicle, there was more issues with the vehicle than when I dropped it off. The AC no longer works, which it was in working condition when I dropped it off. The right height adjustment was working when I brought it to them now it no longer works, the battery continuously dies and I had no issues with it before I dropped it off and I just replace the battery. The interior lights worked before I dropped it off. Now they don't. The vehicle was covered in leaves and more dirty than when I dropped it off. That's something that is completely shocking to me but I guess now I know better. My advice to you is to document/ video your car and it's issues before dropping it off or just take it to a reputable car repair shop. They have no issues charging you for issues that they caused to repair your car. I'm not telling you not to take your car here I'm just telling you to be prepared for whatever the outcome is when you pick up your vehicle. Life if full of disappointments don't let them add to the list Best of luck

My first visit was a good experience. The only issue I had was my extended warranty paid for the service & labor to change the part that needed to be replaced. However, they charged me additional labor to get to the part and additional cost for free on. Which cost additional $800 I didn’t like that because the cost to repair the original part was $800 so I paid double and felt I was getting ripped off. Now I just go to the dealership till I can find another repair shop.

There was a broken locking mechanism on the headlight of my GERMAN car… I gave them upwards of 2k and had to come back about it 3 times and it still pops all the way out even if I just drive it up the block. They are comically over priced… …
