Wanted to love this place since it’s the first Asian grocery store in my part of Ballard, but it’s been a mixed bag. On the plus side: easy parking, a solid hot food bar with plenty of seating, and a produce selection that includes Asian vegetables you won’t find at a regular grocery store, like perilla leaves and Korean pears. The problems are hard to ignore though. Produce is frequently moldy or wilting. But the bigger issue is the price tags. On my last 5 visits, tags have been missing or mismatched with the products on the shelf. More than once I got to the register and was charged more because a sale had ended but the tag was never updated. Other reviews mention the same thing, so it’s clearly not a one-off. It’s the closest Asian grocery store to my house, but I’ll be going to Hmart Downtown or Lynnwood or Asian Family Market on Aurora instead.

Sorry about the lame pics. This Hmart is smaller but still packs a punch in products. All the trending items plus staples for a well stocked Pantry are here! Hot items in deli case are super fresh and very tasty plus you can not beat the price point.

Charged $20 for an Onigiri and given no receipt and we weren’t offered one either. We didn’t get a price confirmation before paying, but we didn’t assume to check the label when the others were priced accurately. Produce is only good if you use by same day because it all looks like remainder produce at premium prices. Edit: it also was mislabeled for ingredients. It contained spam.
