Hair Craft ✂ is a hair salon in Los Angeles, CA that has built a steady reputation among people looking for a practical, personal place to get their hair done in Downtown Los Angeles. Located at 123 Astronaut Ellison S Onizuka St #304, the salon is a convenient option for locals, nearby workers, and anyone spending time around DTLA who wants a haircut in a smaller, more relaxed setting. With a 4.4 rating from 77 reviews, Hair Craft ✂ stands out to many customers for its approachable service, fair value, and the kind of detailed attention that can make a routine appointment feel more comfortable and tailored.

A recurring theme in customer feedback is the salon’s small, professional, and at-home feel. Instead of a rushed or overly polished atmosphere, many guests describe a space that feels more personal. Several reviewers specifically mention stylists such as Yuji or Yugi for being patient, detail-oriented, and consistent over time. For some long-term customers, that reliability is a big reason they kept coming back for years. Reviews also highlight that a haircut here may include extras like shampooing and blow drying, which adds to the sense of value for people who want a complete salon visit rather than just a quick trim.

For anyone searching for a hair salon in Los Angeles, CA, Hair Craft ✂ may especially appeal to clients who appreciate careful work, a quieter environment, and stylists who take time with the cut. One reviewer called it a hidden gem in DTLA, while another noted the staff’s fluency in Japanese, something that may help some clients feel more at ease or better understood during the appointment. The salon appears to be a good fit for regular haircuts, style refreshes, and visits from people who want a neighborhood salon experience with a more personal touch. It is open Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and closed on Mondays, which gives weekend flexibility for those balancing work or city schedules.

As with most well-established salons, experiences can vary by client, hair type, and expectations. While many reviews are strongly positive about service and value, there are also customers who felt disappointed with the final result. That mix of feedback can be useful for new visitors: bringing reference photos, explaining preferences clearly, and discussing the desired shape or length in detail may help create the best experience. Overall, Hair Craft ✂ remains a notable Los Angeles hair salon for people who value personal service, detail-focused cuts, and an unpretentious local atmosphere in the heart of the city.

Service is good but hair cut is reallly really bad…very sad and not satisfied. Pictures are the hair I got, hair I want, hair he does. When I tell him to fix the back he was not happy. I don’t like it at all… I don’t know what to do with my hair now, very sad

Yuji is an excellent barber—I went here for 3 years and always left happy. The price is such a great deal for the quality. Highly recommend!

A real hidden gem in dtla. Yugi did my hair and it was awesome, he was very patient and detail oriented. The hair cut was definitely worth more than its price, including shampooing and blow drying. I would recommend this salon to all my friends and will come back again for a haircut!

I had been indecisive on a haircut for a while and decided to stop in here. Most of the staff, if not all, speak fluent Japanese. This place is Small, personal and professional while still having an "at home" feel. I managed to come in at a good time with only a 30 minute wait. Yuji cut my hair, and I'm so very happy with it! While I couldn't give something exact that I had in mind, I gave him the kind of feel I wanted to go for. He totally understood, made sure I felt good about it and made it easy to maintain. Thank you so much! I will definitely be back!

Legend says once you have been to a Japanese salon, you will never go back to other places. So for the past 15 years, I have only been going to high end Japanese salons and have even gone to a few of them in Japan. To be completely frank, the first time I’ve been here, there are some bad stereotypes going on in my head. But once you get pass that stereotypes, you see real legends. Kaz is my stylist and he is easily the most skillful one I have ever been with. His attention to details is his second natural and is a perfectionist (which is the best trait for a stylist). Recommend him 10/10
