Hair Loft Atlanta

Had an appointment on Friday at 10:30 am for a wash and blow-dry. This salon was recommended to me, and I’ve had good enough experiences to keep coming back. In 2025, I came about 3-4 times. I scheduled my appointment with Emoni (an important factor to note), who did the majority of my hair last year. Everything was going fine until it was time to blow-dry. Another staff member was rinsing out the deep conditioner, and told me to go to a different chair with a different hairstylist. At this salon, many of the hairstylists start/finish other clients' washes besides their own, and I figured that's what was happening with my blow-drying. However, this was a new hairstylist, who I believe is in training (which I was not informed of), and she proceeded to blow-dry my hair for about 40 minutes on high heat. I know this because I was watching the clock and felt my nape and ears burning, which is not my typical experience here or ever. She was also continuously going over the same sections after they were very obviously not getting straight due to her lack of technique. At the point I wish she had stopped and waited for help. The blow-dry looked like I could have done it myself. I could not even run my fingers through it, and it was extremely puffed up. I asked Emoni to go back over it, which she did. Then she gave me a trim and 2 braids but my middle part wasn’t even straight. I was getting tired of being there and was in a rush to leave, so I just pushed it aside. I don’t mind letting trainees work on my hair in the shampoo bowl, but I think it would have been common courtesy to let me know she would be blow-drying. Especially since I specifically scheduled Emoni. I also understand that my wash took longer than normal because of the detangling since I had just taken down my braids, but that does not justify being reassigned without communication. I regrettably did not speak up at the time, which is why I’m writing this review. Besides my experience being below subpar, I am mainly concerned about any heat damage I have sustained from this new hairstylist. I really like Emoni and enjoy her work, so I am considering giving the salon a second chance. This mainly depends on when I wash my hair to see if there is any heat damage (I will update if so). Please keep in mind that this is my experience and what I have observed.

The ONLY place I’ve gotten my hair serviced since moving to the area in 2019. My color is perfect, my silk press last, my natural curls still intact!! I love all the girls! Dee is my stylist but I would be just as happy with Charlie- owner, Karma or Imani. I highly recommend this salon.

Emoni did an amazing job on my silk press! I got a wash and trim as well, and my hair feels so healthy and light. She took her time, made sure my ends were even, and gave my hair so much bounce and shine. The whole experience was smooth and professional from start to finish. Highly recommend booking with her!

I started back getting my natural hair done here the end of 2024 the results were great. I was taking a trip and wanted a weave hairstyle I asked the stylist multiple times before if she could deliver the style I wanted and she said yes. The day of the service she COULD NOT do the style and it looked a mess! For the price being charged I was very mind boggled!! The other stylist in the shop had to coach her on how to do the style, however NOT one of them stayed to make sure she delivered they all left which was tacky to me no team work at all, I called the owner the following week to let her know I didn’t appreciate spending my entire Saturday trying to get my hair done, while speaking with the owner I honestly couldn’t get a word out she was just over talking me advising me to book with a level one stylist and the outcome should be better… I’m leaving the review because people need to be made aware of what they’re dealing with when it comes to this shop! I’ve never experienced anything like this before ever! They were nice enough to give me a refund of half my money back which I appreciated but in all honesty they had no choice! Please be aware when dealing with Atlanta hair loft. I guess it’s a hit and miss unfortunately when I really needed the style it was a miss!
