Customer feedback also points to the salon being a place families may consider, with one reviewer mentioning services for both an adult and a child during the same visit. That practical range makes it a useful option for clients who want to take care of multiple hair needs in one place. Reviews also suggest the team is familiar with Korean men’s hairstyles, which may be especially relevant for clients in and around Koreatown looking for stylists who understand that look and texture.

This is the kind of place that may appeal to nearby residents looking for a familiar salon for ongoing maintenance rather than a one-time luxury experience. At the same time, as with many neighborhood businesses, customer experiences are not identical. Hair World holds a 3.8 rating from 34 reviews, suggesting that while many people return regularly and have favorite stylists, outcomes can depend on the service, expectations, and communication during the appointment.
Overall, Hair World stands out as a longstanding neighborhood hair salon in Los Angeles, CA for cuts, color, perms, and routine hair upkeep. It may be a good fit for local residents, Korean-speaking clients, families, and anyone who values a convenient Koreatown location with extended daily hours. For the best experience, many repeat customers suggest asking for a stylist by name, especially Helen or Young Ah, based on the type of haircut or service you want.

Sign in to reviewI recently found this place by luck and it's super close to my house. I've been here 3 times already and always get my haircut from Helen. She's super nice and always does a great job. Thank you~ for the awesome haircut. :)
I went here to get hair cut but I ended up doing color & perms for me and my kid. There was 2 ladies who speak different languages as helpers then Korean. One translating & supervising another lady. I tipped the owner $50 with credit card and had 2x $5 dollar bills. I wanted to tip the lady more who did most of the work to assist the owner because she was sweating. However, the owner said she will pay them so I gave her cash too. Then she gave each ladies $5 bill each. I explained to the lady I paid her more since I didnt have enough cash. I am sure the owner is generous enough to share the tips since the helper washed my hair multiple times, standing there to assist perms multiple times. I felt bad since I saw the supervisor helper cried and I over heard the owner said she will have to get rid of one of them. I am not so sure what's going on but I wished I had more cash so I can split them evenly. I am happy with my hair as well as my kid's hair and thankful for the flexibility to fit both of us. However, it was definitely not a pleasant experience to hear the owner training her staff especially in front of my kid. I really hope I don't have to be stressed to get work done here next time because I feel bad for the helpers. There was definitely unnecessary drama while I was there for almost 4hrs.
This is the only place I go for a haircut. Ask for Helen! She is the best and will adhere to all your needs and specifications. I been exclusively going to her for anything that I want to get done. She can speak Korean as well but if you feel comfortable in English then by all means.
Never coming back here. I went in a month and a half for a men's haircut. They layered my hair bad, it's growing out terribly. Even at the end when I left I heard the Korean women mentioned I looked like Kim Jung il. Sure I might be latino but doesn't mean I can't speak or understand a different language. Really disappointed with my haircut. When I left the chair all I got was well. " Hey it's hair it grows back"
Bunch of cool ladies that know korean men's hair. Young Ah is the best. Wife and I always make sure she's available. Price is most reasonable in koreatown. Ask for Young Ah.
