Guests describe a clean, modern-looking space with facilities that feel refreshed and well maintained. Reviews specifically mention a Himalayan salt room, along with stone and jade rooms, a sauna, a steam room, and hot-tub areas. These amenities give visitors ways to slow down before or after a service rather than treating a massage as a quick, stand-alone appointment. One guest noted that arriving early made it easier to enjoy more of the spa time, a useful consideration for anyone planning a fuller visit.

Massage and exfoliating scrub treatments are among the services highlighted by customers. Reviewers have described their scrub and massage experiences as relaxing and much needed, while one especially enthusiastic guest praised a massage from Mina. Individual preferences naturally vary, but the feedback points to a setting suited to people seeking hands-on care for a calmer, more rested feeling. The onsite ATM, also mentioned in a review, may be convenient for guests who want cash available for gratuities.

The atmosphere at Hanbang Health Center is best suited to visitors who appreciate a focused neighborhood spa experience. Customer comments indicate that some of the individual facilities, including the women's hot tub and certain specialty rooms, are relatively compact compared with larger destination spas. At the same time, guests have noted that the center can feel spacious and not overly busy during a weekday early afternoon. That makes it a practical choice for solo relaxation, a personal wellness day, or anyone who prefers a quieter visit when scheduling allows.

With a 4.3 rating from 60 reviews, Hanbang Health Center is a notable option for massage spa services in San Leandro and the surrounding East Bay. Its combination of massage, exfoliating scrub treatments, salt-room relaxation, and heat-based spa amenities offers several ways to build a restorative visit around personal comfort. Whether stopping in after a long week or setting aside time for self-care, guests can plan around the center's daily extended hours and choose the pace that works best for them.

Had a great scrub. The facility is nice, I especially liked the Himalayan salt room. I only wish I had arrived earlier before my treatment to enjoy more time in the Spa. There is an ATM onsite for cash tips. I look forward to trying other services. It was spacious/ not busy on a weekday early afternoon.

Very clean and looks recently updated; the facilities are very modern. The hot tub area is relatively small for women (maybe 6 good friends?), sauna and steam room bigger and could hold more people. I got the exfoliating scrub and massage, and it was MUCH needed and very relaxing. The person performing the service (Tina) was very thorough and would ask about how much pressure I wanted during the massage and if I was doing alright. It got to the point where I was drifting in and out of sleep and time felt infinite. Such a good feeling. My only gripe would be that at some point, the music changed from ambient sounds to Mariah Carey Christmas and general Christmas music and it wasn’t relaxing at all. Luckily this shouldn’t happen most of the year. I wish the locker room served corn or barley tea in addition to water, but not mad about it. Please check out the different stone rooms, I loved reading in there. I would definitely come back here.

Not worth the $40 entrance fee. You get a very small towel and one medium sized towel. Swimsuits are required for men only, very discriminatory. The swimsuit rule doesn't make much sense, especially when you are trying to take a shower when leaving. They don't provide plastic bags to take your wet trunks home in or a machine that rings the water out. Not an authentic Korean spa experience, the mens area is very basic and no tea is provided. Better to go to Imperial Spa or Kabuki in the city. Will not be going back.

This spot is fairly small compared to other Korean spas in SoCal. The facility is clean which is good. The hot tub in the women’s area is pretty small as someone else mentioned. The stone, salt, and jade room are also pretty small in size. I got a treatment which was good. Probably would only come for the treatments not for the other amenities.
