Hance's European is an auto repair shop serving drivers in Dallas, TX, from its location on W Mockingbird Lane. For owners of European vehicles looking for an alternative to dealership service, the shop is a local option for maintenance, diagnostics, and repair needs. Its 4.7-star rating across 306 reviews reflects many customers' positive experiences with the team's communication, technical knowledge, and practical approach to vehicle care.
Customer feedback highlights work on vehicles including Porsche, Volkswagen, and Range Rover. Reported services include brake and rotor replacement, oil changes, coolant updates, oil-leak repairs, inspections, and help with no-start concerns. One customer described bringing in a vehicle with a no-crank, no-start issue and learning after inspection that the battery, rather than the starter, was the source of the problem. That kind of diagnosis can matter when drivers want a clear explanation before moving ahead with repairs.
Several reviews specifically mention Jim and describe straightforward advice and attentive service. Customers have also shared examples of repairs that focused on replacing the needed component rather than an entire system, such as resolving a muffler rattle with a small part. Every repair situation is different, but these experiences suggest that Hance's European is known by many reviewers for discussing options clearly and avoiding unnecessary work. For European-car owners in Dallas, that practical, repair-first perspective can be especially valuable.
The shop is open Monday through Thursday from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM and Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with Saturday and Sunday closed. Hance's European in Dallas, Texas may be a good fit for commuters, local residents, and owners of European makes who need routine service or are trying to understand a specific mechanical concern. As with any auto repair visit, calling ahead to discuss your vehicle, symptoms, and requested service can help set expectations. Customer experiences vary, including one reported concern about a request for Spanish-language assistance, so prospective customers may wish to confirm communication needs when scheduling.

Sign in to reviewHighly recommend!!! Park Place Porsche quoted me $2500 to fix my muffler rattle because they don't replace parts only the whole system. A $10 muffler part and a six year service/oil change and I was out the door for $425. Ask for Jim - he'll shoot you straight!
1st time going to Hance’s! Got every penny’s worth out of the brakes and rotors on my 2018 VW Tiguan I could and it was finally time to get them replaced! Was quoted a little more than I was expecting but decided to just get it done. Id rather get quality work for a little more than cheaper work with questionable results! I found a 1st time guest coupon on their website, picked up my VW & left paying less than my original quote! So if you go definitely check out their website!
It’s my first time taking Range Rover outside the dealership and I must say, they are super knowledgeable and very honest. They don’t try to up sell or over charge you. Jim is very nice and doing all my coolant updates, oil leaks. Customer service is amazing but more than that, I like their honesty
Brought my car in last week due to a no crank no start situation on my vehicle, had the vehicle towed in to their place and had it looked at. After doing the inspection of the vehicle they reassured me that the issue was not the starter and just the battery, of which I appreciated their honesty. I opted to do the battery myself and ended up just paying them for 1 hour of diagnosis. When I go to pick the vehicle up it starts right up (nice!!!) but as I begin to drive off there is a hard clunk coming from the vehicle that is constantly felt. I go back in to show the front deskman and explain to him how it was not doing this before it was brought in. He test drives vehicle and confirms vehicle is not operating as designed, but when they had the vehicle lifted in the air previously to inspect it he claims that no issues were noted. Customer notes were not added so I am unable to see technicians notes on his findings when the vehicle is lifted. He offers to take a look at it but does not take responsibility for the issue, there is proof however that this condition did not exist before. I am an auto tech myself and have been for the past 7 years but have gotten to the point where I don't have the time to fix my own vehicle myself but I have the means to take care of it (for context). I place the vehicle on the lift where I work and notice the dog bone mount that braces the engine to be completely destroyed at the metal (not the rubber) and also observed other obvious signs that the vehicle has bottomed out or hit something. If the vehicle was truly lifted in the air an inspected "as stated" then this broken mount would have been noticed immediately it is a vital part of the chassis and operation and is around the area of the starter which they claimed to have checked. This mount being broken caused engine movement that resulted in the power steering pressure line to be punctured (by the engine) and is resulting in a $2500 repair of the power steering line and pump. This was a completely avoidable scenario but now I am 3k deep in a repair that was originally quoted for just a battery. I will not be returning here, and if you have a vintage German vehicle you hold dear to your heart and treat well, I cannot say i recommend you come to this place either. Cheers.
This was one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I called to inquire about a service and simply asked to speak with someone in Spanish. Instead of responding courteously, the person who answered was extremely rude, used offensive language, and hung up on me while laughter could be heard in the background. It is not a matter of speaking Spanish or English; it is about respect and professionalism. Any business that treats potential customers this way should seriously rethink its approach to customer service. I will definitely not contact this shop again, and I would not recommend it to anyone.
