HealthFlex Home Health & Hospice is a home health care service based in Oakland, CA, at 7677 Oakport St, Suite 930. The agency is associated with home health rehabilitation and hospice care, helping patients receive support in the setting they know best: home. Its posted hours run 24 hours a day, seven days a week, a detail that can matter when families are coordinating changing care needs. For Oakland households seeking in-home clinical support after a hospital stay, during recovery, or as health needs become more complex, HealthFlex offers a local provider to explore with the patient’s physician, discharge planner, or family care team.
Customer accounts give a specific view of a care team that includes nurses, physical therapists, and occupational therapists. In reviews, patients and families mention in-home nursing visits, medication review and discussion, physical therapy, and occupational therapy aimed at making a home more accessible. One family praised an occupational therapist’s careful guidance and recommendations about bed rails and other assistive equipment; another noted therapy and nursing support over a longer period of care. These firsthand accounts provide a practical picture of home-based rehabilitation and support that people have received. They are useful topics for patients and caregivers to discuss when arranging care at home. A patient’s approved services, eligibility, and individual care plan may differ.
The atmosphere of an in-home provider is shaped less by a waiting room than by the people entering a family’s daily routine. In multiple reviews, HealthFlex staff are described as caring, thorough, compassionate, positive, and encouraging. One family said it repeatedly selected the agency when a father was eligible for home health after hospital discharge because the team showed interest in his progress. A hospice review similarly described staff as nice, helpful, and friendly, with a sense of connection built over the course of care. Several comments also emphasize that the team treated the household as more than a routine assignment. These are individual perspectives, but they offer useful context for families seeking a respectful and involved care experience.
HealthFlex carries a 4.7 rating from 195 reviews in the provided data, signaling many favorable experiences while not making every experience the same. Some feedback raises concerns about administrative coordination and equipment-related follow-through. Prospective patients and families can use that context to ask early about the expected scope of care, timing, insurance eligibility, communication contacts, equipment needs, and how questions will be handled. For people in Oakland, California considering nursing visits, in-home therapy, rehabilitation, or hospice support, HealthFlex Home Health & Hospice is a locally based provider to evaluate according to the patient’s specific needs, care plan, and professional guidance.

Sign in to reviewMy mother's home health Occupational Therapist was Kathleen Chen. She provided such excellent care and a wealth of health information and recommendations for bed rails and other assistive equipment. Kathleen is thorough, compassionate and has such a positive and encouraging demeanor.
I don’t know if the people who are giving good reviews here just have better insurance because this has been a nightmare to deal with this company. I had Achilles tendon surgery on the 15th. They showed up on the 16th or 17th told me they were ordering all that you know, I was gonna need a knee scooter and I was gonna need just to get to the bathroom and the kitchen. I have to be toes above nose 23 out of 24 hours a day. It’s been 14 days. No one’s brought me anything all they do is take my blood pressure walk out the door and then when they talk to me on the phone, they keep asking me. How tall are you? We’re ordering your equipment. How tall are you? How much do you weigh and they asked me that 10×10 different people it’s two weeks they left me with no alternative to get to the bathroom. I live alone. I have to use the office chair because if I would’ve known that, they weren’t gonna do this or on the first day if they wouldn’t have kept telling me they’re gonna take care of me I would’ve made alternate plans, but they supposedly are telling me that they’re taking care of me, but they refuse to do so it’s been 10 days. I don’t have any knee scooter from them. I do not have a bath a way to take a bath. No one‘s coming to help me bathe. No one help me do anything. I am alone in an apartment with no way to cleanse myself or to get around to the kitchen to wheel into the kitchen, I have to order stuff in. I’m going broke doing it. These people should be removed and not be anywhere near sick people because they’re just liars and then they say oh yeah we reached out to you know I have a iPhone. I’m pretty much know when you’ve reached out. I’m the one that’s reached out to you guys 100,000 times every day. When is my stuff coming? Oh yeah we’re doing it we’re doing it. They should’ve just said on the first day but we’re not capable of taking care of you so why don’t you just call somebody else order it from somewhere else I would be fine. I actually got injured trying to wash my own hair dragging myself because I gotta keep 1 foot off the ground. It doesn’t even have like there’s no walking on that foot. You gotta drag yourself to the bathtub. Try and wash your thing while you’re in complete and utter pain and this is their idea of compassionate care.
The nurses, therapists and the entire care team TRULY CARE! We weren't just a job site or task.Over the last nearly 2 years, every time Dad is discharged from the hospital and he is eligible for home health care, we choose Health Flex because they are interest in his progress and encourage us. And they patiently teach him and me how to keep him health going forward. The nurses are very knowledgeable and coordinate with both his PCP and specialists. The changes suggested were implemented by his doctors and had direct beneficial impacts.
We have used this company for Home Health rehab several years ago and things were great. We have recently used them for Hospice care for my mom. The staff were nice, helpful and friendly. We really bonded with them. However, much of the administrative side left a lot to be desired. I was receiving quite a bit of misinformation that didn't agree with what the nursing staff on hand was telling us. My mom graduated from Hospice to Home Health and it's been a organizational and communication nightmare. So far, I have gathered, the 2 sides Hospice and Home Health do not talk to each other. Not my words...theirs! My mom has medical equipment from Hospice and some of the SAME medical equipment is needed for Home Health and they have to pickup the equipment provided by hospice and deliver the equipment from home health. Why??? it's the same company! I have been contacted by 2 delivery companies trying to pickup and drop off but they have not been coordinated so that my mom is not without a bed or supplies. I still do not have clear information as to what can and cannot be ordered in relation to medical equipment or supplies. I was told medical supplies, wound care supplies etc...were ordered (I don't know by who) It's been almost 3 weeks and we've received nothing. Today, we are down to our last wound bandage and I have called 3 numbers this morning and the best I've received so far is an, 'I'm sorry to hear that' from the call center receptionist. I understand dropping the ball, however, it feels like no one has even picked the ball up in regards to my mom. There is much more to say and I hate leaving negative reviews BUT I feel very unsupported and cannot go another day without voicing my frustrations and disappointments publicly...Mind you, I have already voiced my frustration with 3 different persons from the company. If there is a positive....the PT, OT & Aide seem to be really nice...I do not at all recommend using this company for both hospice and home health. Pick one if you'd like and move on for the other. To be fair - If things change before I find another service, I will update my review
Wonderful. I have been cared for by HealthFlex since 2020 I believe and I've received excellent care from the team. Nursing home visits, P. T and O. T. O. T has made my home accessable for my care. P. T has been great and the nurses give excellent care My meds are reviewed and discussed, I receive follow up calls from HealthFlex. I highly recommend HealthFlex. Sincerely. Ms. Eartho Barnes.
