Help at Home is a home health care service in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, serving people who are looking for support at home and families considering care arrangements for a loved one. Its listed location is 1500 Spring Garden St, Fl 6, Suite B, Philadelphia, PA 19130. For local residents comparing home care providers, these details offer a practical starting point: identify the agency, confirm whether its services fit your situation, and ask what arrangements are available before making a decision. The business is listed with a rating of 4 out of 5 from 221 reviews, giving prospective customers a broad range of feedback to consider alongside their own questions.
Customer accounts describe experiences from both the caregiver and family perspectives. Some reviewers who worked as caregivers say the agency was easy to work with, and mention a straightforward clock-in process and activity checklist. Others describe positive interactions with enthusiastic, considerate staff and a case manager they felt was attentive to a family member’s access to care. These comments may be useful to people exploring employment as a caregiver as well as families who want to understand how communication and coordination have felt for other customers. Individual experiences can differ, so it is sensible to discuss expectations directly with the agency.
The feedback is not uniformly positive. Some reviewers report frustrations with clock-in and clock-out systems, while a particularly serious account describes missed weekend shifts and concerns about a bedridden older adult not receiving expected support. These are customer reports, not a complete account of the agency’s operations, but they raise important questions for anyone arranging care. Before services begin, families may wish to ask how schedules are confirmed, how a missed visit is handled, whom to contact after hours, and how urgent concerns are escalated. Clear answers can help families assess whether the arrangement feels dependable for their needs.
Help at Home’s posted office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; the listing shows the office closed on Saturday and Sunday. Because office hours do not necessarily describe when in-home care is provided, confirm scheduling and availability directly, especially for evenings, weekends, or changes in a care plan. Families should also discuss the specific assistance needed, who will provide it, how updates are shared, and what to do if the planned caregiver cannot attend. The Spring Garden Street address and weekday hours can help Philadelphia residents plan an initial inquiry.
For families in Philadelphia comparing home health care services, Help at Home may be worth contacting when they want to ask about home-based caregiving and learn how the agency coordinates support. For prospective caregivers, reviews also offer perspectives on working with the organization, including comments about checklists, timekeeping, and staff interactions. Read the full range of feedback rather than relying on one account, and use a conversation with the agency to clarify details that matter to your household. A careful discussion of schedules, responsibilities, communication, and backup arrangements is especially important when a person relies on consistent support at home.

I was my son's care giver and the agency was easy to work for and with. Clock in/was very easy, the checklist for activities is easy to complete and the benefits and pay were great.
I have been with Help at Home for over four years, which is longer than many of the employees currently working there, and I can honestly say the company has gone downhill. The biggest issue is their clock-in and clock-out system. Instead of taking responsibility for the ongoing problems, they constantly try to place the blame on caregivers. I have personally gone to the office and contacted HHA on several occasions, yet no one seems to know what is going on. The company has multiple departments, but there appears to be absolutely no communication between them. Every time you call, you get a different answer depending on who you speak with. It's frustrating because no one takes accountability, the case workers and supervisors are left Moving in circles like a chickens With their heads cut off. they have no compassion whatsoever and will dismiss you like your nothing. When I first started with Help at Home, it was a great company to work for. The staff was helpful, concerns were addressed, and employees felt valued. Unfortunately, as the company has grown, the quality of management and caregiver support has declined significantly. Raises are rare they will doing anything not to give you that 50 Cent raise your entitled to. Caregivers concerns are often ignored, and there seems to be little appreciation for the caregivers who do the actual work. After four years of dedication, I am extremely disappointed with the direction this company has taken. Overall, my experience has been frustrating and disappointing. Help at Home needs better communication, better leadership, and more accountability if they want to retain quality employees. But help at home is getting too much money now in multiple states they can care less if their caregivers are satisfied
3 weekends in a row, nobody showed for a 90 year old woman who is bedridden. No water, medicine or food. ONE WORD: Don't!!!! Again, another weekend 1.18.26 and no call, no show for both 12 hour shifts. This is 3 weekends in a row but you are concerned? You should have your license taken away and I'm going to contact the state of Pennsylvania. The woman is 90 years old and bedridden so you leave her for 24 hours with no medicine and no food and no water. Yet you're concerned? 5-15-26 Again, no call, no show weekend B4 last. No call no show today 5.15.26 They don't care but get the money from the state. The coordinator Michelle should be fired. My phone also disappeared under their watch. Photos & Video will be posted later today. Medicaid will be called Monday to report this horrible agency. Again 3 weeks later, no call no show. Notified State of PA.
My experience with Help At Home has been such an amazing time considering that the employees are all such enthusiastic people! They are very outgoing and considerate! My process hasnt been the fastest or the best but not because of the company or anything they have done. They have been sincerely passionate and patient with my situation. I would like to thank Ms. Jessica for her time helping my family!
I just want to say Help at home has the been the best agency by far. i’ve been with Excel for about eight years until my first client passed away as of right now I’m taking care of my grandmother, Excel goes above and beyond for her. Charles my case manager makes sure my grandmother has all the accessories she needs to make sure she stays healthy and safe. My grandmother is well taken care of with help at home. If there’s a glitch in the system or if there’s a threat with her services Charles is calling me as soon as possible I just want to say thank you guys for being a part of my support system.
