Heng Fa Food Market is an Asian grocery store at 130 N 10th St in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in the city’s Chinatown. It is a practical stop for shoppers looking for Asian groceries, produce, snacks, noodles, seafood, and meat in one neighborhood market. Customers describe finding a broad variety of Asian products, and reviews mention fresh lychee, Kam Yuen snacks, and Buldak noodles among the items they have picked up. Whether you are planning a particular meal or browsing for familiar pantry staples, Heng Fa offers a place to shop for ingredients and everyday favorites in central Philadelphia. Its location makes it especially relevant for Chinatown residents, visitors, and anyone nearby who wants to explore an Asian grocery selection without leaving the neighborhood.

Seafood is a notable part of the shopping experience customers describe. Reviewers mention live crabs and a range of fish and seafood, including pomfret, Spanish mackerel, prawns, and sardines. One shopper also noted prawns available with full or half shells, while another described buying fish in good quantities at a good price. Product condition can vary, however: a customer’s review says the fish displayed on ice did not meet expectations, and another advises shoppers to know how to assess freshness. These differing experiences are useful context when choosing seafood. If you have a particular fish in mind, checking what is available during your visit and examining the selection yourself can help you decide what suits your needs.

The market is also a destination for people seeking ingredients and packaged foods from across Asia. Shoppers mention a wide grocery selection and produce they found fresh, alongside snacks and spicy instant noodles. The atmosphere comes through in the reviews as welcoming and approachable, with one customer praising the staff and describing them as cool. Experiences and preferences naturally differ, but the feedback points to a neighborhood store where customers return for products they use and enjoy. It may suit home cooks stocking up for everyday meals, shoppers searching for a specific seafood variety, or visitors to Chinatown who want to browse local grocery options. Come with a dish or ingredient in mind, while staying open to what is available that day.

Heng Fa Food Market is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., according to the listed hours. Its current rating is 4.0 out of 5 from 695 reviews, offering prospective shoppers a snapshot of customer feedback rather than a guarantee about any individual visit. You can find the store at 130 N 10th St, Philadelphia, PA 19107. For a convenient grocery run in Chinatown, a search for seafood, or a chance to pick up Asian snacks and produce, Heng Fa is a recognizable local option. As with any market, selection and freshness can depend on the day, so it is worth visiting with your preferences in mind and judging the products for yourself.

Heng Fa Market in Philly is a great spot. I picked up some fresh lychee, Kam Yuen snacks, and Buldak noodles. The market has a wide variety of Asian groceries, and the produce is always fresh. It's a must-visit if you're in Chinatown!

During my recent visit to Philly I visited this store located in China Town, I was looking for a fish variety which is known to me. I could recognise pomfret, Spanish macrel , surmi( anjal or vanjaram) live crabs , macrel , prawns and sardine. Prawns were almost fresh available in full and half peeled. Regarding surmi and other fish one must know how to pick fresh and good ones from the available lot. The prices of fish were generally less than those available in other corporate stores which are pre packed and frozen. Some of the vegetables which indians are familiar with are also available here. One must note that any purchase below $10 has to be paid by either debit card or in cash. The staff at fish counters deserve appreciation as they oblige to their request regarding slices / cutting the fish. Crabs are live and available in 3-4 sizes and the price varies to match their size. It's a must visit store in China Town.

I usually visit this Store (prefer to say Chinese Sea food and Meat store) to buy a fish. I use to get some good amount of fish for good price, but you should know how to differentiate which is fresh or not. I found some variety of fish …
