Hill Country European Autoworks is an auto repair shop serving Austin, Texas, with a focus reflected in customer experiences with European vehicles such as Audi, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, and other German makes. Located at 11190 Circle Dr #400 in Austin, TX 78736, the shop is a practical local option for drivers seeking professional repair and maintenance work for their European vehicle without losing sight of clear communication and careful diagnostics.
Customers frequently point to an organized service experience, from straightforward scheduling to work completed on time and in line with the approved estimate. One Volkswagen Golf R owner noted a brake pad and rotor installation that was completed exactly as quoted, while another customer described returning with a second vehicle after consistently positive service. For Austin-area owners, that kind of dependable process can make routine maintenance and larger repairs feel more manageable.
The shop's work includes concerns that call for detailed investigation, not simply quick parts replacement. A Mercedes-Benz SL550 owner shared that the team performed a deep diagnostic review for a retractable hardtop issue before ordering costly Mercedes parts. Customers also mention comprehensive inspections, photos of identified concerns, and explanations that distinguish immediate needs from items that may be monitored. That measured approach can be especially valuable when maintaining a complex European vehicle.
With a 4.9-star rating from 436 reviews, Hill Country European Autoworks has built a strong local reputation among drivers who value professional workmanship, scheduling support, and estimates explained before repairs move forward. The visible condition of the shop itself has also stood out to customers as a sign of an orderly, work-focused environment. It is well suited to Audi, VW, Mercedes-Benz, and other European-car owners in Austin who want attentive service for repairs, diagnostics, brakes, inspections, and ongoing vehicle care.

Before we moved south of the river I had been taking our German vehicles to a reputable and established German automotive repair shop located in North Austin. Initially all was fine with them, but I slowly began to lose faith in the service performed, following the pattern I had with so many other shops. We moved to Bee Cave in October and our Audi needed routine maintenance, in addition to other issues starting to creep up for our nearly 100k mile vehicle. Needless to say, I was apprehensive about finding a new shop and taking my chances with what was sure to be costly repairs. I don’t know whether God was rewarding me for surviving a grueling move almost single-handedly done by little ole me, since the rest of the family was overcommitted to school and work demands, or what, but Hill Country European Autoworks was where I landed and I feel like I hit the specialized-automotive service lottery! The Audi ended up having greater problems on the very near horizon and, knowing how expensive the repairs were going to be, suggested I think about trading it in. Audi was my first German vehicle I’d owned and was purchased after testing numerous SUV’s to find the smoothest ride to minimize car sickness for my athletic kids, for whom team travel is fact of life. The employees took the time to answer my myriad questions about other makes and models, and their corresponding trims, and their respective issues they see most often coming into their shop for repair. That day I left and started looking for a newer vehicle. Within a few days I replaced my Audi Q7 Prestige with a newer (still used) BMW X5 with the M package, following the advice that if I wanted to remain with a luxury brand I should consider a less tech-heavy and labor intensive trim to cut down on maintenance costs. The M packages is the lipstick on a pig option that just makes it look cooler on the outside, without the goods to back it up under the hood. 😂 Who does that this day and age though?! Who gives of knowledge and experience so freely and transparently?! These people do! In my experience thus far, and with two different vehicles serviced, I feel like they shoot straight with me, they offer a first responder and military discount that they seem honored to apply to our services, and they’re just great people that do great work!! If/when we move again, I’m committed to driving the distance to remain with them! We couldn’t be happier!
Took my 2023 VW Golf R to Hill Country European Autoworks for brake pad and rotor installation. Scheduling was super easy. Work was done on time and exactly as quoted. This is the second vehicle that I have serviced at Hill Country European Autoworks and I am impressed every time. Would not hesitate to recommend!!
We recently moved from the Houston, TX area to Fredericksburg, TX. In Houston, we had a long-standing relationship with a garage that consistently provided exceptional service. They performed comprehensive inspections, supplied photos of any issues, clearly explained what needed immediate attention versus what could wait, and maintained excellent scheduling and communication. After relocating, we scheduled an appointment with Hill Country European Auto two months in advance for specific repairs. When we arrived around 9:30 a.m., we assumed the necessary parts would have already been ordered based on our appointment request. Unfortunately, they had not been ordered, which caused delays. Since we live about an hour away, this required additional travel and inconvenience, as the vehicle would not be ready until late afternoon the next day. The primary repairs were rear struts, and after their inspection, we also agreed to replace the front upper A-arms. We returned the following afternoon to pick up the vehicle. Because the work involved suspension components, the repairs are not readily visible for inspection, so we are trusting that everything was completed properly. One additional concern: greasy handprints were left on the trunk of the car. While this may seem minor, attention to detail matters. Our prior shop in Houston always performed a quick wash before pickup, which reflected pride in their work and customer care. We do plan to schedule another visit as there are additional repairs that will eventually be needed but only with clear communication in advance to ensure parts are pre-ordered and work can begin promptly upon arrival. We value proactive communication, detailed evaluations, and great service.
I took my Mercedes SL550 to Hill Country Autoworks to fix an issue with the retractable hardtop that stopped working. Brent did a deep dive into the diagnostics before ordering expensive parts from Mercedes. Tony, at the front desk, did an excellent job of giving me a detailed estimate for approval before the work started and continually updated me throughout the repair process. I found the cost of repairs to be very reasonable in relation to the time spent and cost of parts that could only be obtained from Mercedes. If you have a european auto that's out of warranty you won't find a repair shop more reasonable or knowledgeable than Hill Country European Autoworks. They truly care! This was my first visit but won't be my last.
