Tiny store with great variety of groceries, friendly and efficient staff, and great prices. I get my Asian biscuits and cookies at Hometown, as they are a little difficult to find elsewhere, and are usually over- priced if you do find them. Hometown also has locally made salted eggs.

They have an impressive selection of products crammed into their small store, great prices, and very friendly service. Their produce is always beautiful. Support mom-and-pops and keep Chinatown alive!

Great selection of seasonal fruits and vegetables! I've been going here since I was 11 years old, and the staff has always been very kind to me. I love going there for the baby bok choy and sweet potatoes. There are always plenty of roots in stock and the price never goes over $1/lb. They have some youngins working there now that speak English, so the language barrier is no longer a problem! They also have a great selection of frozen dumplings.

Hometown has snacks and some staples that you might need for making a quick meal at home. They have a smaller inventory, but the store itself is pretty tiny and the aisles are packed to the brim. It's not the cleanest spot for groceries, but the cashiers are quick and funny, if you can speak Cantonese.

Had the dried citrus peel I needed for oxtail soup. Also picked up fermented black beans that Berkeley Bowl doesn't have. Picked up a jar of anchovies/small dried fish in oil that looks like it's going to be good with rice. Get ready for older folks that cut the line. It's just the way it is.
