Steve and Leslie were always pleasant and professional in written and verbal communication. The problem comes in the application and care their company provides. Our family used them to provide care to our mother who was living in an independent living facility. Our mother needed assistance with medication reminders and basic life issues due to sight, hearing, and initial dementia issues. Each care provider that I meet was pleasant and professional. The problem was they seemed to be more than comfortable with showing up, doing the bare minimum, and leaving after just a few minutes. They were not proactive in providing care, often failed to show, and never appeared to be receiving any direction as to what to do. There were several times they didn’t show up. Homewell was always surprised by this fact when we made them aware. And they never informed us of any missed services. However, they never failed to provide and process a bill…even when it included billing for services not provided. Their minimum service is two hours. It was the rule, not the exception,that the staff was at my mother’s apartment for minutes, not hours. The service they attempt to provide is difficult for sure. I can’t know their thoughts, but I believe they are good people. They are trying, but in our experience, failing to provide a good service.
