Honey Bun's Cafeteria is a casual restaurant in Charlotte, North Carolina, located at 7323 E Independence Blvd, Charlotte, NC 28227, inside the G Mart food court. It offers a broad selection of food and drinks, making it a convenient stop for a meal while shopping or for a quick, relaxed lunch. Customer feedback describes a fast, casual setting and a menu with several different directions, including Vietnamese-style banh mi, pork buns, curry chicken and rice, Taiwan beef noodle soup, fried rice, dumplings, dim sum and boba. The variety can suit people arriving with different appetites or looking for a satisfying meal without a formal dining experience.

Several dishes stand out in customer accounts. Curry chicken with rice and Taiwan beef noodle soup were described as flavorful, while another diner praised the shrimp fried rice for its taste and generous portions, noting that the serving was enough for two people. Banh mi and pork buns are also among the reported favorites, and the pineapple lime tea made a strong impression on one customer. Brown sugar boba and other drinks are part of the selection; one review found the boba well balanced and not overly sweet. These are individual experiences, and the reviews also show that opinions can differ by dish. Some customers enjoyed particular entrees and drinks more than the dim sum or dumplings.

The atmosphere is described as a cute, tucked-away counter within G Mart's food court, with a casual, convenient feel. That location may work especially well for shoppers who want to pause for lunch, friends choosing different items from a broad menu, or anyone looking for takeout to enjoy elsewhere. Customers mention reasonable prices, quick service and a friendly staff interaction. One review also notes that the cups and utensils felt flimsy, so the practical details of a casual food-court meal may matter to some diners. Overall, feedback reflects a mix of appealing flavors, variety and convenience, alongside differences in how individual menu items and serving details land with guests.

Honey Bun's Cafeteria is open daily, Monday through Sunday, from 10:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., according to its listed hours. If you are near East Independence Boulevard or shopping at G Mart, the restaurant provides an easy option for a filling lunch or dinner, a cup of boba, or a takeout order. Consider the curry chicken and rice, Taiwan beef noodle soup, banh mi, pork buns, shrimp fried rice, or tea based on what customers have highlighted, while keeping in mind that preferences vary across the menu. The combination of food and drink choices, food-court convenience and daily hours makes it a practical neighborhood stop.

We bought take-out dim sum items from Honey Bun's and ate them at home. The selection was fairly large, but the quality of the dim sum not top-notch, unfortunately. The sticky rice steamed in lotus leaf was strange, with a strong fishy taste I've never encountered in any sticky rice in lotus leaf, something I love to order, anyplace else in the world. The fried rice was pretty good with lots of Chinese mushrooms chopped into it, and the serving was large. The person who took our order couldn't have been nicer. Honey Buns is tucked into a corner of a large multicultural grocery store featuring many Hispanic and Asian items. While our dim sum was being prepared, we walked around the store, marveling at the variety of things on offer. Charlotteans are lucky to have more and more places like this available.

Instant future go to. Fast, casual, dishes full of flavor and broad menu. Banh mi, pork buns, curry chicken and rice were so filling and flavorful. Randomly ordered the pineapple lime tea and was blown away! Nap time needed afterward.

Honey Bun’s Cafeteria had very good food, but the cheap plastic cups and flimsy utensils made the experience frustrating. We came for lunch — I had the curry chicken and my companion had the Taiwan beef noodle, both of which tasted great. Unfortunately, the tiny spoon barely held anything, and the fork bent while trying to pick up the meat. It honestly made me question whether the same cost-cutting applies to the ingredients. The food was enjoyable, but the dining experience was not. I probably wouldn’t come back, maybe just order takeout if passing by.

It’s a cute shop tucked inside the food court at G Mart. They have plenty of food and drink options. I tried the boba and it was really good, well balanced and not overly sweet. The lady that worked at the front was also very nice. Overall 5 Stars a must-visit if you’re shopping at G Mart

Tried the brown sugar boba, shrimp fried rice and the shrimp dumplings. The price was very reasonable. Shrimp Fried rice was delicious. The shrimp was great. The portions were enough for two people. The dumplings were not so great. Tried it with the chilli oil and still was meh. Boba was real good. It’s inside the Super Gmart. So it’s definitely a quick eat kinda place. This was the only food place open after 7pm and hence was kinda busy.
