Sign in to reviewWhat A VIBE. From the decor to the music, to the service and the food- this is THE spot. My husband and I had a spontaneous early dinner date and decided to try HOT JOY for the first time. As soon as you walk in you are greeted with the colorful decor and a gorgeous mural. You walk into the dining area and can immediately feel the open, warm, welcoming vibe. It’s chill, relaxed, and just right for a casual date or just hanging out with friends with an upscale feel. The menu offers a wide variety of tropical drinks even a seasonal menu- we came during tropical week and the Mangito- Aiiiii it was so good. We ordered the Crispy Wontons ( cream cheese filled wontons) with a sweet guava sauce - YUM. We tried the Pork Belly Buns and YUM YUM. Then we shared the Twice Fried Chicken wings which are covered in Crab Fat Caramel. Read that again CRAB FAT CAR A MEL. The day was ultimately blessed by these amazing wings. The sauce is finger licking good- like bottle it up take it home cause you’ll be missing it. It’s savory and rich, with a hint fish sauce for the perfect balance. When I saw I was ready to take the bowl home with the left over sauce - I really mean it. The manager Kyle ( ugh he’s amazing, the sweetest and the best host- one of other reason we’ll be back) went above and beyond and gave us a take home box of rice with the sauce to enjoy later. Ugh that was like the ultimate finishing piece of the day. BUT it didn’t stop there- we ordered the Spam Fried Rice ( kewpie. Pineapple. furikake. And the salty goodness of SPAM). Even if you’re beyond full- just order it so you can fully experience another one of the staples on the menu for years. It was the perfectly cooked ingredients with chunks of spam. YUM YUM YUM With the food, the service, and the experience this place it the perfect spot! We’ll definitely be back for round two. This place is doing everything right, so do the right thing and come on down. Get yourself a drink, some wings, and spam fried rice and make your day, week, month, or even year better already! We’ll be back Hot Joy ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Overall, the food was tasty. The rice was different than what I am used to, as it had a bit of a nacho & cheese filling at the bottom, which I enjoyed but didn’t expect. The double tossed chicken wings were good as well & I would order it again. I heard this place is better in person, as the vibe of the restaurant is pretty good, However I can’t personally speak on that as I had my food delivered. Nonetheless, if you like Chinese food, I would check this place out. I tried it & was not disappointed. 👍🏽
Although this place has an incredible happy hour and decent food, I can't get passed how poor the service was and unclean things were. The tables were sticky, the drink cups, dishes and the restroom were visibly dirty. We went at 4 50 on a Thursday and felt overlooked and dismissed. The 3 dollar HH buns were fantastic and the half off wings delish! The spam fried rice and noodles were far too salty but have potential. The lemonades are 5 dollars and mostly ice. Cornbread was very good. I dunno if I'd go back except for the pork belly bun.
This was my first visit, and I came in for happy hour. I was very impressed with the experience. The Twice Fried Wings were excellent and perfectly prepared and full of flavor. I also ordered the Painkiller cocktail, which definitely lived up to expectations. A special shoutout to our server, Knives, whose outstanding hospitality made the evening even more enjoyable. They were attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to create a memorable experience, even ending our dinner with an entertaining fire show and celebratory shot. I look forward to returning.
Really cool vibes here at Hot Joy! We ordered the Fiery Gato Noodles and All American Sesame Chicken - a lot of food, large plate sizes and so delicious! We ordered one of the bowl cocktails with Jamaican rum in it and shared this between two people - also super delicious! Loved the vibe of the place, unique interiors, cool music and really great service! Super attentive waiters!
