My hair is wavy and very thick, and it's dry, so it's always been a big pile of fluff. It doesn't help that I'm ignorant about hair and never know what to ask for. My inspiration pictures are always stuff my hair can't do, stuff that doesn't work for me... I've also gotten so much conflicting advice from different stylists over the years! Natural boar hairbrushes, all kinds of product, fancy hair dryers. You wouldn't think to look at the results that I'd spent serious money on it. Anyway, I had one appointment with Bobby Davenport. He told me to stop brushing it except when it's fresh out of the shower, to use plenty of conditioner, and to use a spray leave-in conditioner and volumizing foam to not weigh it down. He also straight-up told me my reference photo wasn't something my looser curl pattern would naturally do and suggested an alternative that'd have a similar effect, and then he cut my hair dry to add layers and volume and kindly listened afterward when I wanted a couple adjustments near my ears. It was great to get told my hair won't do the thing I'm asking for. You know a lot of places will just agree, and then you wash it later and it's back to fluff. But it's all curls and waves now. It was that easy! It doesn't even require a lot of work or a ton of money! I have spent SO much more SO many times on worse results. It really feels like this is what my hair's been trying to do all along. It's not only a good haircut, it's something even I can maintain. Thank you!

This was my first time at House of Dear and I wanted to shout out Bobby. He did a great job and was very thorough. I got a balayage and a cut, and he did exactly what I wanted. It’s been a long time since I’ve been this happy with my color and cut! I would definitely recommend him.
