Ichiban Autos

I had a check brake pad sensor light come on and I looked and thought maybe I needed front brake pads. Mind you, I am not a mechanic, it was a guess and I was prepared to pay for a front brake job. As it turns out, the wheel/tire work that I had completed a week ago at a national tire company, apparently the tire company accidentally knocked loose the sensor AND put one tire on inside out. To be honest, I didn’t know my run flat tires had “inside” markings on the sidewall, but they do. Fortunately for me, my first visit to Ichiban Autos resulted in me finding honest and thorough mechanical technicians and great service from the front desk. Their honesty and professionalism has earned them a new customer! I have already referred a friend to them today.

I had my car towed here since they were one of the few places that answered and had excellent Google reviews. The front desk staff was kind. I had fixed the part myself but my car wouldnt start. They said there wasn't anyone ahead of me and would get to me soon. I then waited 3 hours for them to tell me that they jumped it and it was working fine - also out $200, which is what they quoted me for the hour of service. I think the 3 hours was mostly them doing the 'free' inspection, which was frustrating, since I was driving to go on vacation that day. I wouldnt have agreed to the inspection if I had realized the extra time it would have adde. I'm unsure how long it would have taken them to get back to me about the car if I hadn't asked. Every other shop I have been to and waited on my car in person has updated me about the time, what was going on, and has adjusted pricing if it didnt take as long. It isnt a place I will be taking my car back to. They also sent a follow up message about how the car was driving when they hadn't performed any services besides charging the battery.

2017 Subaru Forester wouldn't start. Tried to jump start, didn't work, but the battery was operating everything except the starter. I assumed it was the starter and had it towed to Ichiban. Turned out to being a loose wire, and my car was ready the next day. They even provided an Uber to get me back to my car. The manager even took the time to draw a diagram showing what was wrong. These folks really care about getting the job done right. They are efficient, highly trained, and trustworthy. I feel very fortunate to have found them.

They got my vehicle in and serviced very quickly, doing the work I actually asked of them. The team listened to my concerns as well as made other recommendations, with no pressure to do everything at once. The car is running very well! I will be back ti this shop with my car from now on. Someone reversed into my car and I needed an entirely new front bumper. They were fantastic throughout the process. They quoted me within the same day, and the car was fixed in less than a week. I’d highly recommend to anyone, but especially students as they are trustworthy and kind!!
