Sign in to reviewI went in for my routine cleaning. The staff is always friendly. Customer service always starts at the front desk. Ana the receptionist is great she is always welcoming and will answer any questions you might have. In fact when you arrive you are the priority and she makes sure you are taken care of before handling any calls. Kiana the dental assistant is very friendly and her persona will make you feel right at home! If you get anxious about dental appointments like I do. No worries the staff and Dr. George will keep you grounded! Dr. George is very kind and she explains in detail while she is working. She is wonderful and will always keep you informed and meet you where you are. Do not worry about the cost. Ana will make sure to explain the cost of the treatment plan before you decide to move forward with their plan. If you’ve never been here before, just know that they do offer the option of credit /payment plans. Lastly No need to worry about getting a follow appointment scheduled at the end of your visit Ana will make sure you have an appointment that fits your schedule before you walk out the door!!
Dr. Lincy George is the best! I have been coming here for over 2 years and never had a bad experience with her as my dentist. Unfortunately, the office didn’t tell me that she was unavailable for this last appointment. I didn’t know until halfway through my appointment that it would be a different dentist because Dr. George was unavailable that day. I was upset because I have ptsd that is triggered by men being too close and hurting me, but decided to stay and get the appointment over with since it was just a routine cleaning. The temporary dentist was dentist Reagan Carroll and he was absolutely horrible. Terrible manners, rude, and heavy handed with dental tools. I tried telling him that it was painful in one spot, but he kept at it. I pushed him off because it hurt too much and he just yelled at me to clean better. I’m sure I’m not the only one that isn’t consistent with flossing all the time, but it wasn’t like I had cavities or anything other than sensitive gums. I should have just gotten up and left at that moment, but was too shocked by the amount of pain I was in. I stayed and waited for the pain to stop but it didn’t. After he hurt my top gums they suggested an additional treatment, but involved out of pocket costs, which I declined because it isn’t fair to hurt me then charge me for treatments to undo Reagan Carroll’s brusque and painful work. Honestly, I didn’t trust them to do any more work on my teeth either. The front desk was nice though and as I was about to request that I only get Dr. George as my dentist from now on, I felt my gum swelling up badly. So now I was in pain and had a swollen gum. They tried to get him to check it, but he refused to check my gum. He was very rude, cold, and unhelpful so I left. Once my gum finally stopped hurting and the swelling was down, I called and requested to only be seen by Dr. George. She and the front desk staff are the only reason I gave a good rating. I just wish they were more transparent when making changes to the appointments, specifically when my dentist is not available for my appointment.
I have had great experiences at Ideal Dental in Katy. Dr Lincy George has been thorough, professional, informative, and kind! I really appreciate her knowledge and care plan. The whole office has been friendly and professional. I knew exactly what to expect.
I scheduled my wisdom teeth removal with Ideal Dental Katy after specifically confirming my out-of-pocket cost in writing. I was quoted $2,000, and before scheduling, I even reached back out to verify that the quote was still valid after insurance review. I also specifically asked about the multiple sedation charges shown on the treatment plan because I wanted clarity before committing. I received written confirmation stating: * “Your patient portion will only be $2000.” * They had already checked and verified my insurance benefits. Despite doing my due diligence and getting everything documented ahead of time, I was charged $2,500 on the day of surgery… a full 25% more than quoted. At that point, after taking time off work, arranging transportation, fasting, mentally preparing for oral surgery, and being literally moments away from the procedure, I was put in an incredibly unfair position. The explanation given was that the original pricing was supposedly based on “cash pay,” even though they had explicitly told me they were verifying insurance and confirming my patient responsibility beforehand. That is not a good-faith estimate. The oral surgeon himself did well, and I appreciate the actual surgical care, but the financial handling and front office transparency were extremely disappointing. Patients deserve accurate pricing and honest communication… especially when procedures involve sedation, time off work, and significant financial planning. I understand insurance estimates can vary, but a surprise increase of $500 after written confirmation is unacceptable. If I hadn’t asked questions and gotten things in writing ahead of time, I can only imagine how much worse the situation could have been. Very disappointed in how this was handled.
I was diagnosed with periodontal disease and told I needed a deep cleaning instead of the annual cleaning covered by my insurance at Ideal Dental. I had the REGULAR cleaning in another place without necessity of any deep cleaning. Came back in 6 months and was told that some treatment now is needed due to the same disease, again refusing the regular cleaning. After getting 3 independent opinions (two in Houston and one overseas), none confirmed the diagnosis or recommended the treatment during this period. Based on my experience, I would definitely not recommend this place. The patient care was disappointing, wait times were long, and later I learned that other patients had similar experiences.
