Inter Trans Insurance

Very very very poor experience. We got half of our furnitures and electronic equipment that got destroyed or damaged in our move. Movers exonerated themselves from this disaster with a "not my problem, file an insurance claim"... "Only" issue is that the insurance is Inter Trans Insurance. Seeing pictures of our stuff being completely destroyed is not enough for them. They need "reports from repair specialists" testifying all is destroyed and nothing can be fixed/salvaged. Very easy to find when you are on an island in Thailand with two young kids and half your stuff destroyed during your $20k catastrophic move... We have been talking to them for almost two months and so far they did nothing to help and everything to pay nothing. Awful service, culture and company feeding on people tragedies. Just awful.

Horrible company…. We claimed our insurance in December and they FORGOT to processes it!!! We waited till end of January and now they are saying January bookings are closed and they cannot process until February. Stay away from this company, very immature and unreliable. I’ll chase my money and keep sending email to them until I received my claim. Total joke, it’s been 2 months and no payment has been done.

We have been working with Inter Trans Insurance for about six years now on over 700 moves and have found them to be very professional, responsive, understanding, and fair. I suspect strongly that the people who have complaints (not the ones we’ve worked with) have them because they did not fill out their paperwork correctly or don’t read their policies, or the mover they were using did not fill out the paperwork properly. In each of these cases, Inter Trans insurance is not to blame. Here are just a few examples of how not to fill out the paperwork properly: - If there is no independent third-party packer and loader / moving company that marked items off as they went onto the truck, there is no way to know if an item was lost or never got shipped at all, so a claim cannot be paid. - If items are not properly identified and valued, the insurance company will not know how to process the claim, so it can’t be paid. - If you value an item for less than it is worth, the insurance company cannot pay you the full value, because you didn’t buy insurance for the full value. Bottom line: if you work with a reputable company that fills out the paperwork properly and you fill out your paperwork properly and honestly (it’s not hard; you just need to pay attention), we have found Inter Trans to be very easy to work with and very fair to our clients. With these caveats on what the client and the mover both need to do in order to get paid for damages or loss (which you will have with any insurance policy in any situation) we strongly recommend Inter Trans Insurance to our associates and clients.
