Jang Guem Tofu & BBQ Sugarland

First time here with the family for lunch! 🍜 We ordered the kimchi clam tofu, beef kimchi udon noodles, and kimchi pork, and it was all delicious. Everyone enjoyed the food and the condiments. The service was great, and the food came out super fast! If you're in the Sugar Land area near Ranch 99, you have to come by and enjoy the food. In our visit to Houston, this was the first Korean restraunt we visited. The restraunt was clean and the employees were kind. But all other thing about this place cannot compare to the food. There was many varieties of Korean food. We ordered 6 types and all of them deserves 5 stars. They also offered all customers free ice cream which was made with real fruit juice. I highly recommend experienceing Korean food and culture at this place.

The food is delicious. We went on a Friday afternoon for lunch, and the place is crowded. Only 2 waiters running the tables, so we had to wait for awhile to get our food. The side dishes we never get refilled because they were so busy. I give them 4 stars because of the slow service and the high chairs for baby/toddler were so dirty. I cleaned 4-5 times with the wet papers, and the paper were getting black and looked gross. Hope the owner can fix these problems in the future. Thanks.

I've been to Jang Guem Tofu & BBQ many times, having sampled most of their menu. Everytime I dine here, I am very happy with the quality of their food & sweet, prompt & professional service. All their dishes are very reasonably priced & come with their standard 6 sides of fish cakes, mashed potatoes, seaweed wraps & a variety of kimchi vegetables. This time I had their kimchi tofu & dumpling soup which came out bubbling hot & served with a heaping bowl of rice...all for a bargain price of $11.95. Everytime I've eaten here the food has been very hot & fresh & the staff very sweet, professional & accommodating. You also save 5% if you pay in cash. All in all Jang Guem has been my go-to casual Korean spot for quite some time now in the Houston area. Their dishes are often better than Korean restaurants that are 2-3 times their price point.
