Sign in to reviewI finally went here to eat and enjoyed my lunch. My friend and I ordered their lunch special: ponzu salad, tequeños, tajadas (fried plantains), Texan roll and black widow roll. Everything was delicious! Our waitress was great too! This is my new favorite restaurant. The place was busy. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. I highly recommend this place.
They have an awesome happy hour lunch menu. You get to pick a salad, appetizer, and sushi roll($15 worth only). The service was fine they do get busy so it’s hard for the waiter to keep up. He did come by periodically and gave good suggestions and picked up like straw trash and empty plates. I tried the dumplings in which I got half fried and half steamed. I think I do like them steamed better. I tried the ponzu salad which was basically seaweed salad. I also tried the crab puffs and they were my favorite! It has some green sauce and that made the crab puffs stand out even more! Just the flavor and textures of the crab puffs were delightful. It had like something spicy mayo like sauce on it and then the outer layer was fried and the inside was like melted perfectly with what you would find in a crab puff. I also tried the hippie dragon. It had a generous amount of red topiko on top of it and then it was kinda like a Philadelphia roll but had avocado on top. The inside of the place is big for a sushi joint. It felt a little upscale but casual and affordable. The place is dimly lit to give you date vibes. Overall, this is a great option to go to if you want affordable sushi that isn’t AYCE quality.
Had a lot of fun ordering the sushi boat, since it was my first time. Upon first glance of the menu, I was pretty skeptical of the concept, but the sushi seemed fresh. It was all we ordered besides dessert and drinks. The Mochi Ice Cream tasted exactly like the boxes of My/Mochi you can get at the grocery store. The berry bread was very good. Tres leches was about what you’d expect. We were there for business so we made a reservation for dinner, so not sure about wait times, but it didn’t seem like there were many open tables when we arrived.
Excellent sushi spot in Sugarland, fish tasted fresh and the fresh wasabi took my breath away. :) Our server was attentive and we enjoyed our lunch very much.
Amazing service and food. The tequeños were great, I do think they could have been paired with guasacaca instead of Salsa Rosada. The Noodle could've used a little more vibrant flavor to wake it up. Otherwise, very good.
